Imo, she's a pretty balanced character with amazing grouping capabilities. However, currently we don't have many instances where we need grouping, it may change in future and tgen she would be top-tier like Kazuha. I like her gameplay and find her fun, even if she's not super busted at base currently. As long as she's fun that's enough. As for her design, I think it's fine but I don't really like child characters in general. So if there's any downside to her, it's just that, she's a child.

I like her fireworks animation and the theatrical elements. I haven't played Roccia's story quest so I'm just guessing based on the main story. She is mature (despite her shyness) bc she was exiled and became part of the troop at a young age. The gap between her age and maturity might make her a compelling character. But this is solely based on guessing so I might be wrong.

I mean she is really strong, the main issue is Sanhua is the best 4* unit in the game and currently fills the same meta role as Roccia. Roccia's rotation is slightly longer than Sanhua's but she contributes 5-6x more damage than Sanhua. I think she'll gain value as Camellya's dedicated support once we get a 2nd Normal ATK DMG DPS.

The worst part about Roccia is, whenever she is interrupted mid air, you have to charge up to jump again, wasting 2-3 more second. This makes camellyas attack-window extremly tight and you can't make a single mistake or Shorekeepers Ult will run out.

Idk why I'm so lucky, my luck used to be the worst, now I just pulled Carlotta, Jhinsi and Roccia in 60 pulls. And I still have many astrites saved for Pheobe, the one I was going to pull for, but when i gave a try to Carlotta's banner and got it in my first try, I got confident and look now. I passed from only a SK to all this in less than a month, it's crazy.

Imo, we shouldnt ask for more powerful characters that outperform others by a huge margin. Just the fact that she has high concerto and deal her own dps is useful in dual dps teams (you could use her on all teams, not caring about outro and just caring about her dmg and ult buff)

That's the trade off of having relative balance in a game. As a "specialist" support she is a slight upgrade in her best team and a slight downgrade when played off role. It makes it feel less bad when you pull characters for personal preference as opposed to meta. Her damage, cc, and playstyle are all very nice. Definitely getting her on her rerun. I just need to secure my Shorekeeper and Zani first😅. Havok Rover main btw. In the mean time I'll use Danjin/Baizhi.

Yeah she is too niche atm with not enough benefit to back it up. It's why I'm sticking to S0 and no weapon. But I really, really like her so I'm going to build her mainly her for the grouping to make overworld farming more fun/more convenient and hope she'll get a better gauntlet in the future that will be less specific and more generic, as well as more havoc units to synergize with. For now I'll share Xiangli Yao's weapon. If she doesn't, I won't be bothered since I'll still get her fantastic grouping and overworld farming convenience

the basic problem is roccia doesn't give a significantly bigger buff then sanhua, her buff is narrowly focused on camillya, and it's only for 14 seconds, when camillya requires probably closer to 30 seconds. when you add in all the extra time she needs on field it really doesn't matter how much damage she does, she's chewing away shorekeeper's buff making it even less likely camillya, at the best part of her rotation, will be able to do best damage. furthermore while her damage is good, as is her grouping, she doesn't touch camillya's dps, so every second she's on field she's hurting the team's dps, effectively neutralizing whatever dps buff she might have given to camillya's team over sanhua. and on top of that, her best echo set for buffing camillya is moonlit. not the new havok set, not the old havok set. moonlit. why? because since her buff isn't anything to write home about, you sorta need moonlit buff camillya to bridge the dps gap from her long field time. oh right, and it's nice she's a grouper (which i think in the end is going to be her meta, not buffing) but camillya might be the only main dps who really doesn't need much of a grouper in the first place; being muc more aoe focused. The fact she represents at most a 2% dps gain on camillya teams, over c6 sanhua sort of is damning. BTW vers, I lo e your content but I don't trust you numbers. Maygii did the numbers and something is wrong with the calls your using. I've followed Maygii content since Tower of Fantasy and her number crunching is second to none. According to her numbers Rocca is a +2% gain on dps with her sig weapon ar r0 over r6 sanhua. Crazier still r1 Rocca is a dps loss vs c6 sanhua, like a -1% loss. It's not till r2 we see major dps gains (and they get pretty significant past r2)... and that's with her best echo set for camillya teams. Moonlit. Yeah. You need to put her on moonlit to get her that close to sanhua. I'm not starting a beef, maygii would be the first person to say her numbers assume ideal rotations.

roccia to me marks a very interesting direction for wuwa. Shorekeeper's buff was already pretty tight with cameylla. with roccia, it's almost impossible to get the special intro if you do cameylla full rotation. that's assuming perfect scenario without the need to dodge. With sanhua, it's fairly easy. I don't think damage calculators taken this into account all that much. But guess what? S1 shorekeeper extends it by 10seconds. It almost feels as though, If you want the best for cameylla, you will want roccia. but also shorekeeper s1 or you basically "brick" an arguably significant part of SK's kit. Not sure how I feel about that. But it is there.

My biggest question mark regarding roccia’s character design is that, as of now, she is clearly designed for camellya. And yet her secondary draw is grouping? I have never had a scenario where camellya needed grouping. Kuro is trying to appeal to camellya mains and people who need a grouper, but while doing so spread themselves too thin. I think if they wanted her to be a grouper, make her a sub-dps grouper. If they wanted her to be havoc buffer (like shenhe for cyro in genshin), make her more potent.

Danjin basic attacks make no dmg, her heavy attack is where most of her dmg is so having mortefi is a better option in this case. Roccia is good for HRover, Camellya and Taoqi DPS.

i wish they would release a new main echo for the veil set, one with more buffs for the incoming char that could help to make her a bit stronger support. but anyway im a bit disappointed with her base performance coming from s6 sanhua, but considering i wasnt really expecting to get her (spent most my pulls on jinhsi weapon and i just did 2 ten pulls for roccia winning the 5050 also) i guess its fine to free sanhua for carlotta, if i had went to double pity for her id be sad.

Her S2 is great, but it's worth mentioning that Shorekeeper's S2 also does about the same without any of Roccia's drawbacks (that is, being Havoc-Exclusive and preceded by a borderline useless S1); If you don't have Shorekeeper's S2 already and you have to choose between it (it's a matter of some few months before a rerun occurs) and Roccia's, definitely go for the former. All in all, S0R0 Roccia's only real selling point is her ability to to free up Sanhua for Encore. And the one she's freeing up Sanhua from is Camellya, exclusively. Rover-Havoc isn't worth mentioning for this dilemma because S6 Danjin, whom many players do have, is probably a better alternative in possession of Midnight Veil than S6 Sanhua is to begin with (and thus there's no competition for who will use Sanhua); In such a team, Rover's Basic Attack usage is reduced as they become more of a bot, while Danjin goes around weaving actual combos to maximize her personal damage potential (the main point of using Midnight Veil over Moonlit Clouds). Of course, you can use Roccia for Rover-Havoc if you have no Camellya, but come on... That's not worth pulling for. As for her weapon, easy skip as well. First things first, as you said, it's a weapon meant for a support character and yet it provides no support capabilities. If you have Verity's Handle (Xiangli Yao's weapon), just use it instead and call it a day. Second, whether you equip her with Midnight Veil or with Moonlit Clouds, there's always the option for the usage of 2x 4-cost CR main Echoes (Nightmare Heron + Lorelei for Veil and Normal Heron + Geochelone for Clouds), which makes it easy for her to reach 70% CR and get her Liberation 200 ATK Bonus going on, even without a CR weapon. TL; DR: Don't bother with her entirely unless you have both Camellya and Encore, and you also like playing both concurrently in Tower of Adversity / Pincer Maneuver Warriors (recurrent Event). Or if you obviously like her a lot; And if you do pull for her, keep in mind that her weapon is one of the worst investments you can make and that her first two sequences fall short of Shorekeeper's.

While I agree, I have to disagree with even the idea of pulling her at all for Encore. Brant is coming and a FAR better option. My Encore is absolutely cracked, and she will definitely be getting brant and paired with my sanhua, who is also absolutely cracked. My Encore is s4 with 120Er, 2.6k att, 97%fusion, 37%basic, 23% skill, 78% Cr and 290%Cd with yinlin wpn. S6 sanhua hits around 230k inside her burst window so I cannot wait to see what brant does for her with all his utility. Tl;Dr. Pulling her for encore is stupid.

I cant put into words how much i disagree with people arguing roccia is not beeing worth pulling for. The funfactor she adds and the grouping seems to be not only criminally underrated but also completely ignored sometimes. I also heavily prefer characters not beeing broken by numbers and mainly be valuable pulling for because of fun, interesting characters, animations and practicallity. I hate it everytime a character i like in starrail needs to be supported by a character i dont like, so this approach where new secondary characters basically become a slightly stronger additional option instead of a necessity is so much better. Powercreep in gacha games has recently become a huge topic and i personally prefer every unit to be somewhat on a similar level instead of there beeing clear best in slot teams. Instead we should have multiple options for team slots which we can fill with characters we like or prefer for some reason.

you seem to have forgotten the 150 atk from 4 cost echo and the 100 each from the 3 cost echoes with the Camellya example - so 350 more to take into consideration beyond base atk and weapon disregarding echo pure atk rolls (sucks but happens) - this will reduce the atk value of roccia by quite a bit more than in the calculation in the video

It’s not that Roccia is weak; it’s just that Sanhua is too strong. It feels like she’s supposed to be a 5-star character, but Kuro doesn’t want to give a 5-star for free at the beginning, so they changed her to a 4-star.

as someone with camellya and encore, is pulling for roccia worth it purely for freeing up my sanhua? I'm not interested in phoebe at all but im not sure if roccia is worth it. I do have verity's handle though. Right now im just using solo encore to clear the low TOA floors and using jinshi/zhezhi, camellya/sanhua, or xiangli yao/yinlin on the others. Normally id just pull for her since i dont want phoebe, but it will likely take all of my remaining astrite. Edit: nevermind, the inner demons won, got her at 40 pity

With Phoebe and Brant coming up, Roccia is just not worth it. She might be better with a future character but right now Camellya is plenty strong with Sanhua already. I’m sure they will make use regret skipping her though.

Nope. I got Roccia after 40 pulls. And let me tell you this she’s clearing mobs on her own. By the time I switch to Camelya pretty much everything is almost dead. Then if you give her the old havoc set with sub dps Mortefi, I’m sorry I’m in tears… it’s definitely mama Mia!
