I've always wanted to see a troll level where you're given one of those ? blocks with tons of coins that the player then takes, rendering it brown and unhittable... only to later have a powerup or item fall on that block. Since the block is spent, that means that they can't boop/hit it. I'm not sure *how* it would work - it'd have to be like, a puzzle level where you need X number of coins to win, but I'd adore to see it used as a troll.

I remember a troll level that Carl/Juz playing in SMM1 that had a set of 3 question blocks (including one 10 coin block) that needed to be all hit to avoid triggering a troll

I do remember Ryu played smm1 level where it had a kaizo block that stopped you from getting the flag and then forced you into a pipe. The subworld went to the beginning of the level. But it turns out when you go through the main world again, if you hadn't hit the troll kaizo block the first time it makes you go into the sub world agaim

There was a troll level that used that once. It required you to hit all the blocks in a room before you moved on - through the next door, you could still see that room, and now there were POWs on top of each of those blocks, and a shell flying around hitting the blocks. If any were un-hit, the shell would trigger the POW, preventing you from moving forward. It'd be easy to do in reverse by just needing the POW to be hit instead of for it not to be hit.

3:05 the beautiful thing about this troll is that the only reason to exist is to make the person playing laugh. Like, the key door could just go to the "BOOF" part, either way he goes through a door, right? By setting up so the player goes through a door they didn't intend just makes the thing funny, even if they die.

12:59 I love how this block intentionally doesn't kill you. So you have to do the next section after CP1 twice _before_ respawning at the checkpoint for the switch state change shenanigans. Here's an idea for a level Carl: Do one like you said with each troll leading to a different anti, but maybe try another level that has just 1 anti that gets increasingly harder/more complicated. Like the one in this video with the spiny spike and springs, that added fire flowers later. Do one where it starts simple, but on later trolls into the same trick death, power ups are added, mybe first a mushroom, then flowers, stars, beeg shrooms, etc., Lemmy's balls, more springs, launcher walls to limit movement, etc., Could be fun.
