Absolute Transmetropolitan Volume 3 Overview

When the last Absolute came out, I decided to read a few of the issues online first before diving into the expense of 3 absolutes at one time. After reading 3 issues, I went to IST and gladly spent the money. Holy crap, i had never read this before but I was hooked after issue 1. It was WAY ahead of it's time. You can make parallels between this story and out political climate today. Really really good stuff. Got the first absolute the other day and volume 2 and 3 will be here tomorrow...can't wait to devour them. Great vid as always brother, keep them coming

Thanks for the kind words, hermano. Yeah, I thought about mentioning the similarities between Trans and the political climate in the last few years, but I tend to not get political in my videos. Not that I don't mind talking about it, but I think the world gets enough of it out there. I''m just here for entertainment purposes. :)

It's definitely a series that deserves more praise. I guess DC saw a chance to collect a Warren Ellis book in its prestige format and saw it as a no brainer.

I m just like waiting on the reprints of my favorite comic book series. Absolutely need these absolutes man. Sick. It's a piece that brings you straight to the 90's even if you were too young to live it fully. Just like preacher.

Already picked up the last absolute and I'm half way done with the second. It's not for everyone but by God it's right up my alley. Spider is one of my fav comic book characters! Btw Omar, update on my hellboy reads. Just finished The Conqueror Worm. I love Poe so I really enjoyed all the references. I really wanna know more about lobster Johnson, do we see him again? Was he just a ghost or something? And how come the floating head dude is alive? I was sure he died at the end of the first library edition when Rasputin blew up the castle.

Spider Jerusalem is one of my favorites too. We see plenty of Lobster Johnson. The guy got his own series that I hope DH collects in HC someday.

I wasn’t sure if I wanted to spend my money on an absolute edition (i think they are pretty much sold out now anyway) so I just bought book 1 of transmetropolitan. One of the biggest positives for me was the artwork, absolutely beautiful it came across gritty and vibrant at the same time. The story was a little confusing at times, especially some of the words/terms used, but it still get me interested. My favourite issue was ‘another cold morning’ well written excellent prose and some amazing artwork. Would it be even better if I got hold of an absolute edition, to appreciate it more ?

They are out of print, however DC is coming back to print with them later this year. Starting with volume 1. :) The art is amazing and deserves the Absolute treatment.

I love, love, love Warren Ellis and Transmetropolitan. It is one of my top 5 comics of all-time. While I will buy the 3rd Absolute I wish, personally, that DC had put this series out in 2 Omnis instead. I'm not a huge fan of the Absolutes and prefer the Omnis. Also, and I think Omar is with me on this, DC needs to get off the asses and put out James Robinson Starman in Omnibus versions. That is a cracking series and needs a proper Omnibi release. Those out-of-print trades cost an arm and a leg. Omar, use your #PeruvianPower to get that done! #OmarRules

I was hoping for omnis of Transmetropolitan too, brother! And God yes! Robinson's Starman deserves proper omnibus treatment. I own the HCs, but will double dip like a madman to get those oversized in two omnis and they can throw in The Shade mini that never got an HC. Let's all make it happen!

WHY?!? Dear god, WHY?!?!?! is Volume 3 OUT-OF-PRINT!!! Its been released a little over a year ago and it's out-of print now??? I have both Volume 1 & 2 and was saving up for Vol.3 and then OOP happens. WTH!!!! 😡

I did a video a couple of months after this, stating that I realy thought volume 3 of the Absolutes would be going out print. They just didn't print enough, because volume 2 didn't sell as well as 1. It really sucks.

I've never had a singe issue with these three nor any of my Absolutes. Even my Swamp Thing. I will say that it has to do where it was printed.
