Thanks for showing how to train a very exuberant jumping puppy. It makes all the difference to see the dog transform. By the end of the video, the dog was actually settling down. I have a 14 month old Aussie boy who acts just like this golden puppy.

This was a great video and SUPER helpful; thank you! We only signed up for the 25-day challenge yesterday with our 14-week old WCS pup. She's full of beans, LOVES people and loves to jump up just like Mango, so it's great having advice on this and seeing something that works on a pup just like ours. Thank you!

How does this work with raw food? My beagle is fed a mix of kibble and wet raw, I can't very well throw that at my guests feet or on the carpet. Kibble alone isn't high value enough. What would you suggest in this situation? Adorable by the way, and love how you just roll with it, burps and all.

Great video!! love that tossing towards people encourages keeping 4 on the floor. What are your thoughts on "hand target" as well as building up the sit or down position as people approach. Meaning "dog holds the sit position/is getting reward while person approaches, but if dog breaks the sit then the person turns around and walks away" this has helped my clients tremendously, but it also comes down to street encounters always being an issue for a while! people are harder to train than dogs lol

Great video. What do you do if your dog is raw fed though? And how do you manage that training when you’re on the beach with lots of people about?
@anumvella56823 жыл бұрын
There's tubes which you can squeeze to get the raw food out and that way the dog must keep their attention on you in order to keep licking from the tube. Or you can freeze the food in silicon trays and use in frozen form just like you'd use kibble.

Love this video, can see Mango's progress. Toward the end she became very calm whilst being patted. I was wondering why you did not reinforce this too by giving her treats then? I think I would have. Thank you.

How does this apply to strangers on walks as they don't have food? My dog walks straight past some people, but others she jumps up without warning. I know boundary games are recommended for visitors to your home but how do I stop this outside?
@Scrozzled3 жыл бұрын
The "stranger" (Tom in the video) is not feeding the dog, the person holding the leash (you or in the video Lauren) is offering Mango's kibble

Hey this is useful in a domestic situation - but what about street encounters, or someone calling in when it’s not mealtime? Thanks
@yesXquinten3 жыл бұрын
Ditch the bowl. You do this in short sessions throughout the day. You are training for the situation not in the situation. This way you can train with games and then your dog finds value in being calm and staying with you. Watch more AbsoluteDogs videos.

Hi Elsie, It sounds like the underlying struggle may be a lack of CALM. A good badge for you to start with may be the CALM badge. This badge would help them break down the steps and lead to true calm, even in the presence of a ball 😊 absolute-dogs.com/products/calm Let us know how things go ⭐️

Purchased a video from you guys. Your training is great and obviously works. But it is very treat driven, my dog is NOT food orientated whatsoever. And sure she can't be the only one. Would be good to see some training without food 👍

I’ve got a cocker exactly the same not food or toy driven at all,makes life very difficult
@aj022513 жыл бұрын
I don't know where in their arsenal of resources I saw it, but they do address this very problem. Dig through though, it is there. Also remember that the "treats" are not extras on top of the meal, it is the meal. If you train with your dog's meal at dinner time, you will likely find a more responsive dog. I have a 14 week old puppy and been using these games and they are great, even my 7 year old daughter does it with our pup, with great results. My dog is basically hand fed or fed through games the vast majority of the time and the rest is with snuffle mats, lickimat or slow feeder as AD recommend to keep dog busy and as a calming thing. Good Luck!
@anumvella56823 жыл бұрын
They've done a podcast about how you can make your dog like working for their food or user other things as rewards like toys or games or even yourself, as long as you know what's a happy behavior for your dog and then allow them to do it. For example if your dog likes running your can train by rewarding with a nice run etc. Observe your dog and be creative :)

I’ve got one just like that,same breed too he’s been doing this for 8 months and we’ve tried everything including this,it’s unbelievably draining 😞

Hi Robert seen another technique where you have the lead on dog already prepared for visitors get someone to practice this with you & when visitors come you are already Are sitting with your foot on the lead when the visitor enters thru the door you can still reward the dog drip feeding if they don’t moan etc - This way the dog can’t move towards visitor & learns to calm down Sometimes it’s just the initial excitement of people entering Don’t know if this way will help your dog Hope this is helpful

@absoluteDogsofficial4 ай бұрын
Progress not perfection is the name of the game!! 🤩 Just playing the games for a few minutes a day can make a huge difference in your dog's behavior!! We would recommend playing this game in easy win scenarios first, so play the game where your dog can win loads first. Then start to play in places or with people they struggle with. Keep up the great work!💜 You can also play loads of other games to continue to grow your dog's behavior in the direction you want them to go!
