i played SM2 and recommend it. there isn’t a bunch of aSBI in it , it’s there but imo the game is worth playing.

Spiderman 2 is great visually and for gameplay, but the story is not good at all, imo. The screwed up major elements like making Aunt May out to be financially irresponsible just to pile on the trope of Peter having money problems, which thoroughly pissed me off. Spidey vs Kraven encounter cutscene used to get to black suit Spiderman severely underpowered Spidey for it to work, which made absolutely zero sense and immediately took me out of the story immersion. So many villains were handled off screen. They quickly and unceremoniously ended the story of the friendly bird guy. Mary Jane is still weirdly ugly, annoying, and has yet another stupid and annoying gameplay sequence that cannot be skipped. There are other things too, but man that game is just such a disappointment in terms of story and characters. The Pete and Harry stuff is really good, but most of the other stuff is pretty stupid. Sorry, I can't recommend it. Although, I guess if you want to get it just to diehard your way through, then get it on sale because it is not a good follow-up to the first game.
