It’s a little heartbreaking hearing them ask if it’s really racism because they “desire” black people. Like… that goes so far into “positive stereotypes”. Lol also, it sucks because when first hearing the groundskeeper talk about Rose I legit thought that he sounded like those weird oddly perverted grandfathers

The actors do such a good job portraying the white grandparents trapped in the Black captives. I love how uncanny they were. I want to see more of them.

@jubilantsleep they weren't trapped in them they WANTED to be them

It’s permanent, the flash only brings them back temporarily which is probably why Walter committed suicide

You most definitely have to watch it a second time, because you will see things that you didn’t notice the first time around! Like the fact that it seems, Rose is being really progressive by challenging the officer who wants his ID. But really, they don’t want to leave a trail, or trace of where he has been, and who he has been with. Secondly, when the character Andre is turning around for the white people, it looks as though they’re checking out his new clothes, when REALLY… they are checking out his new body! Also, I think the family really was racist to an extent, because Jordan Peele was intentional about the Jesse Owens character winning in front of Adolf Hitler, some thing that obviously infuriated Hitler. And the grandfather was infuriated for losing to him as well. Lastly, in the beginning, I didn’t think the family was traditionally, racist,. I thought Rose was just eating her cereal separate from her milk was because she was a psycho lol. But in actuality, watching it again, it appears to show her preference for segregation, not mixing white with the colors. Wait a minute, there’s one more thing when I watch your reaction. I think the family in many ways views Black people the way it does the deer. The way his dad talked about killing the deer is the way many racist white people in America have talked about Black people. And you see the deer as a trophy in their basement where he’s held hostage. And it’s almost like you’re seeing the deer get its revenge when he uses the deer to kill the father. And I don’t think they showed it in the actual movie, but in the trailer, there is a scary deer that he sees in the sunken place as well.

The Deer symbolizes The Black People The whispering singing in the beginning and in the closing credits were spoken in Swahili, and in English they tranlate to "Brother, listen to the ancestors. Run! You need to run far |Listen to the truth| Brother, listen to the ancestors!"

@Nigel Shepherd I've never watched it, but I still know the plot. I would never give money to a racist. Looking at your profile picture I understand how biased you are.

@Nigel Shepherd Black privilege prevents you from seeing how bigoted Jordan Peele is.

@Nigel Shepherd Mocking someone when they point out a racist is a demonstration of your opinion.
@rubydragon1034 Жыл бұрын
@Nigel Shepherd You clearly don't think Jordan Peele is a racist, otherwise you'd be just as guilty of ''And yet you watched. That makes no sense whatsoever''. So don't act as if you're mocking someone whose statements you agree with. Can't gaslight me.
