IKR...I mean Purina is not my favorite archon by any means...I just love, immensely mature and caring Nahida, mysterious and playful Venti, and knowing powerful Daddy..uh I mean Zhongli way too much. But as a character I love Furina. Even though she acts childish, she craves attention and is too much into drama and theatrics, she doesn't feel stupid or dumb, at least as far as the court proceedings and all are concerned. I can somehow tell that she is also coping just like venti, except she has thrown herself into chaotic and delusional dramatized version of life, instead of day drinking or locking yourself inside a machine of mass murder lmao. Is she doing her job as an archon well? hell no. Are her antics kinda being a problem for her people? Kinda yes. Is she hiding something much more sinister/a history? Yes.

The device they use to give judgement is most likely from Celestia and not made in Fontaine at all. Guessing from the prophecy the people from Fontaine accessed forbidden knowledge somehow and now is doomed to dissolve into water.

It's because the trailer wasn't bombastic. The more the story went on, the less they wanted the story to just end up as a MCU style climax clusterduck that doesn't really mean much. Fontaine and Sumeru quests were great even without the mega cutscenes. The court case whodunnit and time loop themselves were enough to carry the story. Unlike Liyue which might be an unpopular opinion, but the only thing it has for it was the unnecessarily overblown boss battle with Osial.

But the thing is, the Traveler HAS said "no" before. Are people really forgetting about the START OF INAZUMA? Remember how they dashed Ayaka's hopes about freeing her people from the decrees? She literally had to force the Traveler to visit 3 people to convince them to help as a deal to arrange a meeting with the Shogun for the Traveler. But things ended up that Thoma was arrested for his vision, Traveler saved him, and leading them to run from the Shogun. Shout out to that person in chat who did remember that I'm sure if Traveler could, they would have done the same thing in Sumeru. But circumstances have made it that they HAD to save Nahida, and thus Sumeru before they could even ask her anything.

Yes i agree, but i'm quite confident that a very reasonable cause of this is because of the unfortunate "illusion of choice" onn dialogues the devs has put on The Traveler and how meaningless most of the time choosing one or other is, that people (understandably) just does not/given up taking the time to read and take in what is written in it. I'm quite confident on this because i'm a victim of this and i had just noticed this now once I started watching and looking at other people's gameplay of AQ's and stuff. Exactly, after Liyue, after seeing their sibling again, that it made in Inazuma in a hurry and choosing to be less active, the reason he moves now is more of the people or friends he gets involved with, or him already being in a mess, and not some grand goal like saving nations, basically the traveler does not want to delude themselves that they are this world's hero, it was shown further when they said in Caribert quest "I'm not a bad person, but I wouldn't claim to be a saint either"

@@tamaraalbella9886 for the danganronpa one- theyre talking about the minigame where we can refute furina's statement- just like in drv3's rebuttal showdown wherein you can refute and counter your opponent's answers if everyone in the cast are split into sides And also its like the closing argument where its comic book style, you rearrange the scenes to complete and it fully tells what entirely happened Also when paimon is telling the entire closing argument- its just like how danganronpa protag's does after you complete the closing argument And even choosing to show your evidence is also part of it in danganronpa- Then again all this may be part of ace attorney as well- since both games are close to debate style game

The voice acting and story writing in the Fontaine Archon Quest so far is amazing. As a fan of the Ace Attorney and Danganronpa franchises and mystery JRPGs in general, I was way too excited to see how they would handle a detective/courtroom case in Genshin and I have to say, a pretty great execution. The balance between inserting important but at the moment seemingly insignificant detail such as the hook, the wet vase, the burnt rope and the audience member being the thief that got away (I was able to catch that she was the thief surprisingly and was able to remember that she was definitely not from Fontaine considering where we met her, pretty pleased with myself at catching that detail) whilst also deliberately missing crucial information until later on such as Lyney being unable to hear the loud bang and the existence of the Primordial Sea drug is hard to manage, you want the player to be able to suspect how it went down or guess possible scenarios to keep them engaged, but not enough to be able to discern the truth first try so that they lose interest once they were able to figure it out by themselves. I knew that they can handle it well as there had been quite a few interesting mysteries both in Tears of Themis' main story and limited event stories, but they also implemented refuting, investigating, deducing and evidence gathering game mechanics pretty well. Little things like automatically cancelling out incorrect evidence after you've tried it, emphasising what you should investigate, highlighting the loopholes and allowing you to access the evidence notes during choosing to refresh your memory if needed was especially helpful for those who are unfamiliar with these types of games. I also loved how it showed many character's personalities, from Furina's inner monologues, to Navia's being the detective's assistant, to Neuvilette's abilities and of course, his mastery of instantly figuring out Furina's BS. Even the audience member's comments are great, suitable to the topic at hand, portraying multiple different opinions, showing how we are convincing others and reinstating the 'court cases are operas' idea to the Travellers as well. So yeah, loved Fontaine Act I, somehow Act II was equally great, I played through both in one day somehow because I was so engaged, very excited to see what future installments of the Fontaine Archon Quest will bring us!

watching after finishing the archon quests, it’s kinda funny how i’m 10x more paranoid. i was so caught up in the court cases i think i forgot to actually listen to what hoyo keeps telling us over and over-it’s all a show for our benefit. suddenly everything seems suspicious: was the eavesdropper in the beginning really working for furina? did lyney really lose the thief or did he want to approach her alone for something? was the reporter murder mystery a random detail or a chekhov’s gun? does neuvillette mean something deeper when he asks us to pay the archon no mind before the show, or when he discourages paimon from trying to peek behind the metaphorical curtain during it? how did the mastermind dissolve the garde from a distance, and does it have anything to do with the way they immediately cut to furina looking more intent than shocked? i really want to trust him, but can’t help but feel that at least lyney is hiding something more from us…and i’m still trying to figure out wtf is up with focalors. to me it feels like she’s supposed to be a foil to ei (the duel parallel, rising to a position they aren’t ready for because of the cataclysm and how they rule as a result), but i also wonder if whatever’s wrong with fontaine is affecting her.

Now we no longer say yes because, excluding commissions and events, in the Archon quests, we keep getting dragged into things unrelated to us and you'll see it's been slowly building up even at the start of Inazuma. After knowing that their twin is actually in Teyvat with the "We will be reunited" quest, they stopped prioritizing missing posters and started focusing on trying to understand the truth of this world to reach the end as quickly as they could and meet their sibling. You're right in that they've already done so much for others only to get breadcrumbs of lore in each nation they've been. Still so far from their goal. It only just happens "now" because all the load that has been continuously piling up through our journey finally gave way and I seriously think one day, the Traveler will SNAP. Honestly, I can't wait. XD
