My gtr was 684 bhp and 558 torque back in 2004 and was running standard crank, rods but with all arp bolts and jun pistons. Never had a problem. Standard crank is good for big power. Everything on mine was balanced which helps too. Good luck with the build matey. 😬👍

A RB30 with a G35-1050 is probably the best engine and turbo combo for response and power, 900BHP is a good figure.

The Vcam and modern turbo setup would have negated the lack of displacement, extra 200cc would do well at mid range torque and off boost, but you do heavy launches and race in the higher rpms anyway so whether you had a 2.6 or 2.8 wouldn't of really mattered. Back in the days you needed that extra displacement when going big turbo setups on pump gas fuel, with todays turbos, you'd make way more midrange than a 2.8l twin setup (or hks t51r setup) in the early 2000s. Shows how much we've come since then. Also shows how good the standard nissan crank is, even the factory rb rods are pretty good north of 500whp.

As a 14 year old most people think I'm inexperienced or I don't know about cars , but believe you me , I tune cars as well as build them , I love JDM cars especially the GTR family , all my prayers are with affys r34 , to go on officially gassed and gap all the other 1000hp cars , please don't remove the hks v cams and pistons , just upgrade the crank , also go for a better turbo , hks t51r or to4z or hks gt3 5r , also greddy t88 .

A borg warner efr 9180 turbo is all this needs 👌 even at 2.6 this was a beast 😳 they spoon really quick and give you a really broad powerband itll be the perfect turbo upgrade 😎 there is a youtube channel EPIC GTR the guy is running a 9180 and gets boost from 2k 🤯

He did so many races on OG Gassed and we only now have found out it is a 2.6 L engine. Only a guy who knows these cars very well could tell this is not a 2.8 L.

That’s what I ran in 2004 . A t51r Kai which was the smaller of the two. Big one was the spl but way too big for a 2.6 with lag unless revving to 10,000 rpm or so

A nitto 2.8L kit with some slightly bigger cams, small port and 1mm+ oversized valves will be a good combo. Combined a with a g30-1050 or sportsman 6870
