Can't wait for mine to arrive. I really like that they announced it just before it is available and also have the confidence to let people review and build it. Looks like a kit designed by people who care and understand about the build experience. It is also at a reasonable price too. Interesting review as always.

Excellent what’s in the box video, can’t wait to see the build. Personally, I would lean towards the grey & red paint scheme.

I build that Belgian version, RS 04 out of a Heller kit in 1/72 scale. That was a re-issue from the old Airfix mold. This 1:48 scale kit looks amazing!
@ModelMinutes Жыл бұрын
there is a more recent 1/72 scale version as well in the Airfix range - but not as detailed as this one

I can't wait for the build video. Or, judging by the size of a kit - at least 3 videos. 🙂

Nice job by Airfix. I'm not a regualr chopper builder, but as soon as there is a scheme for 22 Sdn RAF I might well be tempted.

I worked on XV666 when she was ‘Damian’ 23 on 771 NAS at CulD 92-94. She had a very long and successful RN career. Though the box is wrong she would have been a HAR5 not HAS5 when in 771 colours as the ‘dunker’ was removed
@ModelMinutes Жыл бұрын
That's fascinating, i guess they missed something in their research
@wizmerlin8546 Жыл бұрын
@@ModelMinutesI’m surprised at the amount of mistakes as it’s not hard to find the information (Wikipedia 771 NAS) she had her ‘barn door’ replaced by a sand box in 91 (the engine intake guard) and also only the HAR variant had the yellow rotor blade (for hovering close to the cliff tops)

Hey Matt, excellent video as always. Just now a question popped into my head which I think may be a bit dumb, but a part of me thinks it might just work. For those of us who don’t have an airbrush, would it be a good idea to use a small spray bottle and fill it up with thinned paint(preferably the cheaper stuff as I wouldn’t want to waste say Tamiya paints) and then spray it on a model? It *might* give a consistent coverage, but I wanted to consult you before I potentially ruin a model.
@ModelMinutes Жыл бұрын
I think for paint to come out of a spray bottle it would end up being thinner than normal airbrush paint, which would make it run on the model. Also, the control over a spray bottle isn't as fine. It could be worth a try on a test subject but I don't think it is going to work too well

I find it odd that they would have to pay a company to put their logo on the tires. Seems like it is free advertising. I wonder if just the cost of the lawyer and paperwork is the reason.
@ModelMinutes Жыл бұрын
You need permission to use another company’s branding, usually this license incurs a cost, and they aren’t always cheap

Great kit but i am seriously loosing faith in Airfix and the direction they are going...they SERIOUSLY need to wake up...and it has NOTHING to do with the quality of their current toolings....now before anyone says it i am NEITHER a hater nor a fan boy but i do have the ability to look at them without the rose tintinted glasses on and call them out on their poor decisions.
@epicforger12345 Жыл бұрын
What is your issue with them exactly?
@jaws848 Жыл бұрын
@@epicforger12345 almost zero fast jets and almost zero helicopters in 1/72...ias far as jets are concerned why no Tornado,F-14,F-15,F-16,F/A-18,Draken,Viggen,Mirage 111,Mirage F-1,Mig-21,Mig-23,Mig-29,F-111 etc...and as to helicopters why no Lynx (army and navy versions),Gazelle,Wasp,Scout,Wessex,Puma,Chinnook etc....all subjects they have done before but Airfix seem to be fixed on subjects from ww2 and early jets from the 1950s/1960s

modern vehicles usually incur licensing issues. Other companies with bigger budgets can afford to make certain licensed products but that isn't the case for all manufacturers
