Hi Ashika, thanks for the information, however if employer is sponsoring the role, does he do all the visa processing expenses or we have to do it, apart from that does generally they provide 1 month living exp till salary got credited ? also what about airfare ? As generally our entire savings may cost 1 month living cost in UK 😞

Hi there. If you are coming visa a skilled worker visa you will need to take an English test (SELT) in at least CEFR level B1 in reading, writing, speaking and listening. If you haven’t gotten your PG certificate yet, it’s doubtful you’ll be able to use it at this point. You’ll have to check with NARIC if your degree holds good.

Hi Ishita. You’ll first need a COS from the company and then they would need to apply for your visa. The visa will take 4-6 weeks. COS will take a couple of weeks too. I’d suggest you wait for the COS to come in before resigning. You can even resign after your visa interview

These are the instructions from VFS: Police Clearance Certificate (PCC) is issued to Indian Passport holders in case they have applied for Residential Status, Employment or Long-term visa or for immigration. Hi there. You are right, life with a child is definitely easier in the UK. The facilities up on offer for them are great. Start off small. Start off by asking your husband to apply for jobs using LinkedIn, Reed, Indeed or Monster. A lot of jobs mention whether they offer a skilled worker visa or not so it helps. If the reason for rejection of his visa the previous time is no longer valid, that definitely helps but if its still valid, I would suggest you work on fixing that. Having your occupation code listed on the shortage occupation list makes getting a job easier but it doesnt relax the visa requirements. Alternately, if you are planning on studying, a student visa for a post graduation course in the UK allows you to take your family along and they are allowed to work in the UK for as long as your visa is valid, so maybe that's something you want to consider.

Hi Rohit, if you are asked if you have a work permit they mean a visa which allows you to work. Many people who apply are students or dependants who don’t have a skilled worker visa but are allowed to work. If you don’t have a visa which allows you to work, you need to answer no and apply to roles that offer visa sponsorship.

Hi there Smitha. Thanks for writing in. The average salary offered for Medical Academic Librarian roles is approx GBP 31,000- 33,000.. There are employers that offer more though. A lot of jobs list out the salaries too. I can see jobs listed for this role on Indeed, LinkedIn, Glassdoor. Alternately, you can type in Medical Academic Librarian jobs uk in google and it throws open the jobs section which lists jobs across different portals. NARIC is used when you want to use your degree instead of taking the test. Hi Sampath. You can check with NARIC if you require IELTS or not. If your graduation or post grad was of UK std. in many cases its not required.

how do you show you proof that you have the right to work? The employer needs that proof but the visa needs the proof of job offer?

By right to work they mean a work visa. The employer is assuming you have a work visa to work in the UK. This job doesnt offer sponsorship.

I did speak with the Home Office. The rep on the phone said the (potential) employers are to inform the applicant which forms or proof they need. I thought that was interesting. Thank you again.
