*The Weekly Pull* is my first and still is to this day my favorite podcast, not necessarily from the comic lore jokes, but the heart of it being the chemistry and banter among these friends. Not to mention that there were so many iconic memes that came out of it. I started watching in middle school and now about 8 years since. I honestly still rewatch old episodes every once in a while. These occasional reunions just goes to show that they never lost their touch.

The Kang dynasty storyline could’ve worked. Could’ve had him be OP. Let him be the one who told Thanos about the infinity stones or was the driving force of a kree-skrull war which could’ve been a Marvels storyline, which could’ve led to the Avengers film around secret invasion instead of a TV show. Marvel dropped the ball on how to introduce Kang to be the Thanos level big bad.

30:22 I may be wrong but it wasn't just vision that cut Thanos in half it was Ultron in visions body plus powered up by all the infinity stones. Maybe the fight should have been tougher but it made sense plus that was the cleAr indicator for how big a threat Ultron was. Just like how to show how strong a new villain is they have Vegeta take the L in dragon ball. Another thing to keep in mind is some moments that are seemingly awkward or goofy like that are due to this being an all ages show. We all know Sebastian Stan can act but look at him in that season 1 episode of what if. Those lines were definitely MCU lite. That's the context I always come into what if with

Ye I was upset at what if as well because the villain didnt feel original and it felt like the last episode they did like a mish mash Whats great about dc is that everyone can play batman/superman and its fine, as in mcu u need to have the same actor. Yeah, What If...? Season 2 was a bit of a disappointment. I'm not asking for there to be a thread throughout, that was a nice added bonus to Season 1, but Season 2 also just had bad branching points for these new realities. You're telling me that Ronan the Accuser just kills Thanos, he doesn't even have the power stone, and then that somehow leads to Nebula being in Blade Runner with other characters who were likely elsewhere in space, too? What even is the branching point for the Christmas episode? Has Happy always just been a Hulk now? Kahhori was a good episode, but it honestly felt more like a Love, Death, and Robots short, and the only thing making it Marvel is the space stone being shattered, but it's just there to have this story, not because it was a Marvel story being flipped on its head. 1602 was a pretty meh episode until we actually got the reveal of what spurred that universe into existence, so that's cool, but by that point, we'd just had some bland stories with bland branching. Even the Captain Carter episode was a mixed bag because they go to Sokovia in a town designed to look like 1950s America, real WandaVision vibes even though that doesn't make sense, but you don't have Wanda as a Black Widow using her powers as the Scarlet Witch for the Red Room?! Wasted potential because they were too focused on shipping Peggy and Natasha. Final episode was neat just for the creative fighting with the powers, but overall, I think there were only 3 out of the 9 that were really good and stood out to me. Peter fighting the Avengers, Tony crashing into the Grandmaster, Kahoori, those were the good ones, and one was supposed to be in Season 1, and another was barely a Marvel story in my opinion. The one true standout being Peter and the Avengers got me excited because it played with the lore we know from the other movies, and it was neat seeing Ant-Man, Goliath, Mar-Vell, T'Chaka, Thor, and Winter Soldier fighting alongside one another when we otherwise wouldn't. It's not the best team to fight someone like Ego, but it was great to see the larger world that Nick Fury was talking about at the end of Iron Man, even from just a different universe.
