I appreciate how DT is so protective of the DW franchise. 14:57. There are so many American celebrities who distance themselves from the roles which made them famous. DT is a breath of fresh air. I laughed at his astute comments regarding the fanbase, which is probably true for each new Doctor. 13:24. “And that you must be punished”….sad but true. Lol. DT is so quick and witty in his comments.

People are welcome to dislike any doctor they want, but I find it so odd that many fans of David are posting comments about how they wish he would return to replace Jodie, and making OTT rude remarks about her, knowing full well he's good mates with her. I mean they're free to do so, but given we know he'd hate the comments and hate the idea of replacing her, it just seems so so odd to leave them on a video of him, as if they're some sort of fan compliment.

@@MrSimpleton Yes, although I don't dislike Chibnall as a person I'm not a fan of him as show runner (although he did cast Jodie who I like when she gets good lines). I think I didn't feel too let down because I didn't have hugely high expectations for Chibs based on his previous episodes. I liked some of the guest writing, especially Demons of the Punjab.

Well by now they would of announced another application callout for contestants as 2018 season went up on Jan 25th. Plus on their Facebook post regarding the future they stated hopefully we will be back which gave a confirmation that they don't know if C4 will recommision. I'm calling it cancelled when that wording comes up. Of course they could scout around other networks and could come back under C4 and they might only do Celebrity editions going forward. However that won't be true Crystal Maze in my eyes.@whyemceeay

John Hurt technically didn't use the name Doctor. So I guess it still counts. Though I would say there are 14 of them still alive, as David Bradley is the new nr. one.

In context, he's talking about the process of being on the show for multiple seasons and how you deal with that. John Hurt also, of course, had to make sure he did a good job for the sake of the role, but he was not "the new face of the show" and he didn't stay for multiple seasons, so that's not strictly relevant. Similar with stand-ins like David Bradley for the first Doctor.

And yes, Bradley isn't Hartnell, but did a damn good job (sure, there are some debatable lines, though I have theories for those) and I quite liked his preformance. But I see your point too.

The speed in which they changed lanes around ‘I don’t watch it anymore’ when they realized how close to the cliff they were getting, nearly gave me whiplash. An honest conversation would have included: - Dr. Who is a train wreck right now, but the ‘girl power’ folks have made it dangerous to say so. - Despite the fact that Who fans have been begging for a female Doctor, their disappointment in the execution is characterized as being against the very idea they begged for. - It doesn’t help that there are obvious shots taken at the American audience by a British show. It isn’t like the UK doesn’t have historical ethnic violence and racism stories to tell, and the hypocritical finger pointing at another nation is just cheap. - The fact that the Doctor has always been a bit of a Mary Sue is just more exaggerated with this version.
