Hooooold on a minute. That Dior saddle bag was BRAND NEW with the tags, and came with a matching wallet. Out of curiosity I did some quick Googleing. That bag alone is worth more than £500. It's brand new! I understand if the other bags need some work, but that bag was pristine.
@hellothere-us7iw2 жыл бұрын
It depends on design and brand on resale market. Even though it still with tags if you aren't a registered reseller the item is automatically tagged as second hand. On the 2nd hand market is very fickle thing, the market tends to go classical designs and not the unique design ones. In our family we usually pool in our money to buy our mom chanel bags, my brother always says we will select the classical design ones.

Y’all need to understand the market for handbag resale is like the market for clothing resale. Most people don’t buy used, and most items are not worth what you pay. Yes, certain vintage items can be worth a lot but they must be in fantastic condition, and these items aren’t durable. They’re not made to last a lifetime outside of Hermes who makes everything by hand.

@Fire.Dragon763 жыл бұрын
Pawning and selling are 2 different things. Pawning is getting a loan with your item as collateral. You can still redeem your item back within a period of time by paying the loaned amount plus the interest set by the shop. If you want to sell outright, it would be best to eliminate the middleman and just do it yourself. However, this show is old, maybe 10yrs ago or something and the options we have now might not be as available to people back then.

With any episodes featuring the Hatton Garden shop the “this was filmed ages ago” excuse doesn’t really work for the ridiculous offers on some of the bags. These episodes were filmed in 2014 or later. I get that they run a business and not a charity but when you seriously undervalue a bag because of a biro mark it’s very fishy. (I’m no expert but I know a thing or two about refurbishing vintage leather bags and most stains inside a bag will come off with the right products)

The Dior bag is NOT out of style and worth more then $1,500 pre-owned in that condition, Chanel bag is worth more then $2,000 pre owned. $500 for ALL of the bags, Claudia did not like that customer at all, probably because she's from the US.

There’s *always* clientele for designer handbags, whether they’re ‘popular’ or not; there are always buyers out there for unusual or less sort after variations of designer bags. I can’t stand the generic designer handbag, so boring! Give me a bit of colour & eccentricity any day of the week. People truly don’t understand the resale market on bags. If you want to purchase a premium bag, you’re not going to a pawnshop. No matter what condition it is, cut that value in half. Then the pawnshop has huge overhead and invest a lot of money upfront and have to sit on these bags for several months or year. Maybe even more. If someone gets 20% what they paid for a brand back, that’s not terrible. You get the money that day. You don’t have to list it. You don’t have to pay fees. You don’t have to wait
