@sharonallredart thank you, Sharon. I even find it helpful to go back over all the videos and recall techniques I haven't used in a while.

You have such a unusually creative way of doing things to do with art techniques. I find your approach fascinating! And more to the point, your experience shows through this way. You make the basics and more, work. Thank you. Charlotte Timmins

This is an interesting and useful video. I just keep watching your KZbin videos over and enjoy all over again. Been looking for the video that has Elmers glue used on top of paint but haven’t found it yet. If it isn’t too much trouble, could you please let me know which video? Thanks with love and admiration from Las Cruces,NM 🥰🥵

Thanks for watching. I think the video you are referring to is about using Elmer's glue prior to crackle pasts to get a larger crackle.

@@SandraDuranWilson Yes that’s correct but what video can I watch to see it again? 🥰

It is called how to use crackle paste and glaze. If you go to the channel you can view all the videos. Here's the link. kzbin.info/www/bejne/o4qrlq2wfJ6pm7s

Do you have a video on creating the background on the large piece behind you? The red/black with gold but I am Interested in the red/black base.
@SandraDuranWilson2 жыл бұрын
I don't have a video on that. I mixed 3 different reds with gel and spread over the surface. Gently mix, you want the reds to show their colors. When dry use a black glaze to accentuate the texture.

Did you apply the absorbent ground straight from the jar or diluted with water?
@SandraDuranWilson2 жыл бұрын
I did both and I also mixed it with other products.

Thanks for your great tips and ideas. 🥰 Quick question though : why not use a varnish to seal the paint on the absorbent? Is it so you can add more layers of other stuff on after?
@SandraDuranWilson2 жыл бұрын
Exactly.

@@SandraDuranWilson oh cool!!! Will definitely have to play with that second part then 😜😁
@SandraDuranWilson2 жыл бұрын
@@carolynest-onge5120 I usually just seal my paintings with a gloss or matte medium. Varnish is not necessary but a seal coat is. The other advantage of a seal coat is that I can continue to build layers with more paint, collage, pastes or more. Thanks for watching.

This was a great video! You really got me with using the alcohol to create some white spaces! I had a question: why would you prefer a thick layer of absorbent ground (mixed with light moulding paste) over a thin layer? Benefits/Cons to each?
@SandraDuranWilson2 жыл бұрын
Thank you. The thicker layer will be more absorbent and the paint will flow and move more.

When I read the golden website about this product, it says once I have completed the painting I must then seal it with another product... GAC500 = an isolation sealant too? What do you think about this? It seems I have to buy a lot of new products
@amytc76352 жыл бұрын
sorry, that should be GAC100 + 500 + an isolation sealant
@amytc76352 жыл бұрын
also, do you have any experience with using thinned oil paint on this surface?
@SandraDuranWilson2 жыл бұрын
@@amytc7635 I think you could simply seal it with the GAC 100. If you don't have that dilute Polymer Medium with a little water and use that. I don't have experience using oil on top but most oils can go on top of acrylics. Let me know how it goes.
@amytc76352 жыл бұрын
@@SandraDuranWilson I wonder if we could use thinned oil paint directly onto the absorbent ground...? Lots of things to try out, but little money to bus everything ha ha
