What takes longer,composing the music or researching for photos!?
@AmazingHistoricalPhotos
@AmazingHistoricalPhotos Жыл бұрын
That's an excellent question. The short answer is at the bottom. But the more in depth answer is as follows: All of the music on the videos so far I wrote and recorded several years ago for the three albums that have already been released (After the Storm, Koan and Images). Back then I was playing every day and performing them professionally so some of those pieces you hear I wrote in 2 - 3 hours. I just close my eyes, go where the music takes me ... and somehow memorize it immediately. Not sure how but I just do. Recently, I have started playing more and am about to begin composing again for a brand new album. It might take a little longer as Ive been away from it for a while. So, I would guess 3-5 hours nowadays to get a finished piece... once I'm in the mood. But, I may revise this when I sit down again to write ... lol As for the Photos I would guess somewhere between 10 - 15 hours of research per completed video. I view thousands of photos.. But, so many you will have seen a hundred times elsewhere so they don't make the cut. Some I negate because they cross the line on sensationalism. Some are too graphic for youtube. So it's a very fine line to find rare photos that are usable. Thank you for your question. Sorry for the long response but the short answer would be: Music 3 - 5 hours Photos 10 - 15 hours.

@@AmazingHistoricalPhotos maybe try composing for the photos,so the emotions parallel each other!...they sort of do anyway. I love hearing you play Mark,my favourite channel :-)

It's so funny that you say that. I started on a new piece last night. I always just touch the keys, close my eyes and just go with it, But, I found myself viewing a slideshow in my noodle while I was playing. I think by default now my new music will likely be seen through that lens ... Thank you again for your support and kind words.

Impossible to imagine what was going through his mind. Apparently this photo was taken right as they were getting ready to blow the whistle for them to go over the top ... which meant almost certain death ... That is indeed the face of terror !

Loved seeing young Moe and Shemp, as well as the Marx brothers as kids. As for Keith Richards on a leash, well, when he was let off, he made up for it.

Did that tall soldier survive I wonder….. hope so
@AmazingHistoricalPhotos
@AmazingHistoricalPhotos 8 ай бұрын
Yes, he did. His name was Jacob Nacken and he moved to the United States after the war. He was the worlds tallest Santa for a while and also used his 7 ft 3 inch height to great advantage. He worked on tv, commercials and got a lot of work due to his stature.
