Hello Jesson. What a pleasure to come across this video and your channel for the first time. I am a recent art journal recruit and have been looking for inspiration for my next page. This video certainly did just that. I really appreciated that you used a very simple selection of supplies (no expensive stencils, gel plates, cutters, etc) but especially and more importantly how 'laissez faire' (as we say here in France) your relaxed approach is with the unplanned layers evolving beautifully. Is there an abridged answer to the question how you decide where to put the mark making? It is perfect but seemed sort of random which I’m sure it isn’t. Thank you. Hi and welcome to my channel. Well actually kind of random but I guess it has something to do with experience it’s a bit difficult to explain. There are certain rules to consider, like rules of thirds, putting areas of interest in an diagonal or in a triangle to move the eye around the page. Also think about contrast between light and dark, warm and cool colors just to mention some.

I use either glue stick or gel medium. It’s white gesso, it’s used to prepare your surface before you use paint.

Did you use postal crayons? If not what kind. They seem to spread and blend well by using the hand?

If I remember correctly I used oil pastels from Prima in this video. They are easy to smear.
