Abstract Expressionism: key elements, historical context and main artists

Abstract Expressionism: Color Field Painting and Action Painting | Video #1 Contemporary Art in the second half of the 20th Century. Jackson Pollock, Mark Rothko, Franz Kline, Robert Motherwell, Willem de Kooning, "Cy" Twombly, Barnett Newman, Clyfford Still.
In this video present an overview of one of the most important art movements in the first decade of the post-World War II period, namely, Abstract Expressionism, which is typically divided into two large subdivision: Action painting and Color Field painting. Among the main artists associated with the movement, we will focus in particular on Jackson Pollock and his so-called “dripping” technique, inspired by the automatic writing of Surrealism.

Cosa pensate invece della creazione a tavolino di pollock come contraltare americano agli artisti sovietici? Secondo voi poi, un bambino sotto effetto di stupefacenti avrebbe la stessa genialità dell’artista americano?
