Abstract painting - Expression thru abstraction and markmaking

I love abstract painting because is how I am able to express myself. Expression thru abstraction is one of the best parts of painting intuitivly. The mark making is the the cherry on the icing!
Materials used: Acrylic paint, Gesso and Stabilo woody .

Hi Cathy, I'm curious why you used thick gesso instead of modelling paste for the textures. Is it because you didn't have modelling paste, or does the gesso add something different? Thanks for your answer!

Hi, I use heavy gesso, because I find it easier to dry with my heat gun. They are both good choices though. 👍🏼

Hi!!! I love this artwork that's why i subscribed!!! I even subscribed to red queen!!! Did you do this on watercolor paper?? I have seen an artwork like this on a canvas. Acrylics dry fast like the blink of my eyes. Did you use retarder medium to blend?? I really like the blended part but i couldnt do it because of fast drying acrylics. Thank you for sharing! 😊
