I caught the broadcast where Paula Cole sang "Where Have All the Cowboys Gone?" on Rosie's show in April of 1997. That's where the memory has settled-in for me. That song was one of several, solid songs that really drove the Summer of 1997 now twenty-two years ago in the rearview mirror.

Paula wrote “I don’t want to wait” when she realized her grandparents were aging and no longer able to do what they wanted etc, so it’s a pretty personal song. When Rosie’s show put it up on the speakers, they all laugh and sing along and have fun, but interesting to think about how personal the song is to Paula.
