I'm 63, listening to rock and other music (yes there is) all my life... This simply knocks me off my feet. This performance is just outstanding - if Patti Smith was not still alive, I'd say that Lara is her reincarnation. So we needn't stick to the past - the present has it's own "stars". (a.o. Isbels, Renée [Sys].....). I've got the Little Heavy Burdens album, like it very much, but seeing this performance... Fan forever!!!

Only discovered these guys this year when I got hooked on Northern Road, as it was used as the main title theme for the first euro-crime TV series of "The Team". Now I'm hooked on the album ("Little Heavy Burdens") and, since finding this live concert, and a more recent TV interview, in love with Lara. She reminds me of some of the greatest, most expressive and charismatic female rock singers ever - Patti Smith, Kate Bush, KT Tunstal, ChrissIe Hynde... And I love the eighties indie rock vibe, and the superb guitar based sound, led by Maarten Huygens atmospheric and inventive cord progressions. I hope and dream to see them live. Maybe I will see them somewhere in Europe soon...

Superb band, there seems no ego with them..... they just do what they do. Refreshing. And Lara, a distinctive and brilliant voice..... I think I could listen to her all day even if she was just reading from the yellow pages. She is wonderful, the band are wonderful.

+diddyhayes Of zet er een scheurende gitaarsolo op (hint hint, ik heb toevallig zo'n solo gemaakt..). Ik denk dat hier echt wel meer kan en mag. Een slide solo moet rustig opbouwen, zoals het einde van High Hopes. Je kan er een sfeer en melodie mee creëren denk ik :)

Het mooie van AB channel is dat ik steeds weer nieuwe muziek ontdek. Selah Sue, Oscar and the Wolf om maar enkele te noemen. Zou willen dat de Paradiso of de Melkweg ook hun concerten streamen. AB: geweldige opnames steeds weer van goede bands, ook Belgische of course.. Hetzelfde concert gezien in het Depot Leuven. Wat een mooie heldere stem heeft Lara toch. Was een heel solid cncert. Maar hier was de akoestische gitaar bij Northern Road toch uit de maat gespeeld, denk ik Tijdens de eerste minuut was nog aan het stemmen.
