THE band of the 21st Century. Once again the power trio rises up and asserts itself. I have been following the boys since the Lockdown when I discovered them on the KEXP site here on YT. We are not worthy of this but we are enjoying it. Long may this energy flow from this absolute unit. Nuclear? More like Solar, as in the entire sun comes through these guys. Nobody has anything close to this. Run long, friends, run hard. Remember ; LOUD FAST RULES!

Hey, its four people in the power "trio", in my opinion the visuals are a primary component, its visual music. The visuals are VIOLENT as were many of the best visuals in the 60's, were I deaf I'd still know the power just by feeling the vibration and seeing that mayhem. I wish the camera would not constantly cut away from the awesome visuals since then I can't "hear" them, it makes them seem unimportant when they are important.
@lightsickr3 ай бұрын
Agree. I miss that old feature some dvd's had for live concerts, where you could choose the camera / alternate angles. For example, "Everything, Everything" from Underworld had the option to just watch the visuals.
@billwesley3 ай бұрын
@@lightsickr I like it, yes, a choice! The problem is the musicians are on stage and seen so the audience knows its human artists doing it , but the visual artists are off stage and not seen so the audience thinks its some automated machine and not an artist. There is a reason the credits in movies are a matter of intense legalistic maneuvering, if your not credited for your creations its as if you never created them. When I did light shows in the early 1970's for bands like Blue Cheer and so forth I could be seen because I was on the floor in front of the band projecting up onto a screen behind them. Band promoters would bitterly complain that the audience was paying more attention to me and the lights than the bands, to the point I got banned from some shows. Sometimes the band members would dig the lights so much they'd turn their backs on the audience to watch the show on the screen behind them as they played, which put the promoters in a rage. (which is why I sometimes placed a wide angle mirror on the front of the stage so the band could see the light show behind them as well as themselves without turning around) Announcers would introduce my name and the name of the light show as well as the band, audiences would cheer the more intense parts of the light show as well as music. It felt just as powerful to stand behind some high powered projector shooting out beams of high intensity light onto a giant screen as it does to stand in front of amps shooting out high intensity sound to a giant venue, In both cases your dancing about sweating and straining, putting everything you've got into it. If its not possible to have the light show artist on the stage with the band or on the floor in front of the band a portion of the screen should be devoted to a camera trained on the light show artist so the audience gets it that this is done by a human artist, otherwise they will not get it. So many times people said after a show where I could not be seen, "oh, I thought it was just a machine so I didn't watch" or where I could be seen " I could not take my eyes off what you were doing"

I*n your opinion, it was actually great seeing them live with this behined them. I think you need to consider the concept of other people and their opinions, and seeing people live when you can barely see them due to the rest of the audience and the distance from the band.

i'm confused. i saw them two days ago in chicago, and the projection was covering their bodies and bouncing off their white guitars the whole time, which was very very cool. but here, it appears to be front projection, yet the visuals are not hitting their bodies. i don't get it. it was WAY cool to see their guitars and faces all lit up with the projection, and really tight focus too, so it was super dynamic...
