They were present at the funeral. In fact Abu Bakr was the one who advised the sahabah on the funeral arrangements (ghusl, Janazah, place of burial) of the Prophet (saw).

This story is true but he makes out the prophet to be weak and relient on abu bakr the whole journey when in fact in th quran allah narrates that "rasullaha told abu bakr not to GRIEVE or FEAR allah is with us" why would he tell him this in the first place. Was he afraid? Wa salam
