Is it worth it customising an Ambassadeur? I've had 6500CS Rocket, 6600 Mag, 5600, a Revo STX, and a 5600C4 Mag. I did put ceramic bearing in the Rocket, though. What would it cost to customise a 5600C4 Mag, and what could be done to it?

does your BY7000 come with centrifugal brakes? i just popped mine open and the knob above the magnetic cast control is just a standard spool tension knob, there's no centrifugal pins on the spool or anywhere to be found. the mag tracks also have only 3 magnets out of the 6 slots.

Hi Jamie, I know this is an old video but I have it saved. I was thinking to take this mag break system and utilize the same brake slider and but it on an older model Abu that has the sliding style clicker and make it a mag system. Your thought if you think it can be done? Thanks again for the review 👍🏼

My daughter just bought me one of these reels, no instruction manual, thanks #Bass Pro Shop, on the left side of the reel on the inside of the center nut there is a small silver dial with numbers on it that can be rotated. What the heck does this do and how do I use it? Did I say this is my first spinning reel?

Jeffrey Schueller this is a conventional reel not a spinning, but the dial you are referring to is probably used for the magnetic breaking system.

I guess that would be Abu bulshit. But then again bloke.... most people would have the common sense to Google who is the longest or record Castor and what reel he was using. But just for you bloke, the answer is Danny Mosekops using a Daiwa 7HT Mag. he cast 325 yards

@5:17 revelation! Purchased a USA model "Catfish Special" for $96 USD shipped a few months back. Paper involved was a small schematic with similar postcard sized warranty that will go unused. No grease, no tool, no spare brakes. No manual. Glad I paid $50 under retail. 6 pin brake goes unexplained?

PimpMyReel Oh joy! Please add a r-dawg. And please tell me what you think of drilling out clicker cog to increase spool speed. I read that some do this to reduce friction on the spool axle. Does this work? Would rather not eliminate clicker by replacing this part. THANKS!

Brian Sturdivant PMR duel or single bearing levelwind main drive cog will reduce friction and speed up the reel.

The reel is still exactly the same and I doubt it will change any time soon. When Abu bringing out a real they don't tend to upgrade it within the first 10 years of manufacture.

I have done that mod a couple of times but depends on the brake plate. The Blue yonder does not have a support pin, just a hole where it should go.

Dear PMR it seems to me after watching your revues (which I love),that the diawa millionaire was way ahead from its inception regarding it's I solid aluminium cage would you agree ? PS. keep up the the great videos.

sorry to disappoint but the one piece cage on ALL the Daiwa 7HT reels is made out of zinc alloy. The cheapest and nastiest material that could be used for a cage. This cheap material is brittle, will chip, crack or break under a hard impact. It cannot be anodised and has to be painted, which comes off the reel foot quite quickly.

You have probably heard this a thousand times but my beautiful red made in Sweden which I have given a bearing upgrade, added carbontex drag washers fully serviced and smooth as butter is a better reel reel than that, minus the bling, bells and whistles.

I just threw bunch shiat away these yonder reels from 80's. Had four of them right in garbage pale. Drags let line out for no reason and little round nobbie thing does nothing.
