FUN FACT: This was not going to be a video. Jenny was moving in real life, and we thought it be funny to re-create the meme from the last episode of Fresh Prince where Will is standing in the middle of an empty living room. Then we realize that since the “Pelocura“ video (which was at the time meant to be a “pilot“ for a more structured web series) involved them moving into this house, the characters moving out would essentially be the “finale“ of that storyline that never happened. Then we decided as a video it would make for a great “clip show“ (another sitcom trope) and a good way to segue into the new episodic style we plan to make the videos in now (essentially what Pelocura would’ve been like). It’s a good way for people to catch up before we get into more heavy duty story stuff this year. (Another Fun Fact, this was shot the last day Jenny had access to her old place, and the power had been prematurely cut off, so we shot everything with daylight and small battery operated lights.)

It's awesome. Makes me think of something Celia Cruz said in her autobiography, that she respects her friend Tito Puente's negativity toward the term "salsa," but that all she knows is that when it was known as Cuban music, the audience was dying off and she had few dates to play. When it was rebranded salsa, suddenly she was making money again. So her take was, call it whatever you want, as long as you pay me to play it!

Impressed by anybody who can leave their place that tidy when they move out. This was beautifully done, and I wish you well wherever you're moving too... but are you going to be able to reproduce what you accomplished with that organizer in your workspace? Enjoyed the heck out of that video and don't want to see all the work go to waste. Love this video and I'm going to go check the description and see if there are links to the different flashbacks, because I know I have never seen that one where Abuela is doing the Harry Potter thing. Maybe some other time when there are flashbacks, we can have one from Jasleiney bonding with Abuela over zodiac? You know I love all the Kevin stuff, so thank you especially for that little tribute at the end. Delighted to see him have a moment of excitement rather than disappointment at the thought he made the family disappear (he _is_ a sci-fi geek, after all), and over the moon at Abuela coming back for him. You’re so so kind!! Thank you for this beautiful comment! My husband (Benito/Ezekiel) and I only moved 10 minutes away but it’s our first home. Thankfully this new space will make it even easier for me to film. Lots more space and ways to get creative. If you visit my IG (@jennizzle) I made a Reel that gives you a tour of the attic space that I dedicated to all my costumes, props, wigs, etc. It’s still a process setting everything up as first-time homeowners which is why I’ve needed to step back from making new content. But Kevin and I are planning out our videos for this year and we’re pretty excited!

Tips: * While you're moving stuff in, play Anjelah Johnson's "Don't Impulse Buy a House" (from Mahalo and Good Night) to keep y'all company. * Establish a file where you keep receipts for appliances and any work done. Make sure to put everything in it - an accordion file is good, with an established place where it always lives. ("Lives" is a fun term I learned from a college buddy who's a fellow member of the ADHD tribe; so much more motivating to put something where it belongs when you think of it as living there and wanting to return home.) Otherwise when they come to fix the furnace they want to know when it was last worked on and you have no idea. * The more that things go in an organized way, the easier it is for me to keep it that way over the years. * If you haven't already got a taker for the boxes, break them down every few boxes because it feels so wonderful. I'll put more here as I think of them, but have fun! Will try to remember to go look on Instagram - I tend to stay off of there for the simple reason that they attached my name from Facebook onto the account I had wanted to keep pseudonymous and now I'm always worried I will foul up and contaminate one account with another. 😱 BTW, if you check out some of the oldest videos on the Mediocre Films KZbin channel (from before he started doing all the prank videos) there's one where he does a tour of their "studio" - read: the house where Greg and his wife, Kim, made most of the early videos - that might give you some ideas, particularly what they did with the garage. They are out in LA also and started in a fashion somewhat similar to you... incidentally, if you ever got into The Guild, you'd be interested to know that Kim was a producer on that, which started out as a homemade production as well.
