Really nice demo. I love this pedal and can get lost in the sound on sound looper for hours but I got lazy figuring out some of the advance fitters like midi and expression pedal. This made me want to give them a go.

For most of the time i play the looper. Many looper came out in the last year, but this one has a unique flavour cause of the separate settings for the tape age and it's very practical. Just one cons in my opinion: the more the loop degrade, the more lose it's volume. I guess it's the normal behaviour of a tape loop degrade, and it's a choice to make it like that anyway!
@aBunchOfPedals3 жыл бұрын
You might be able to change your repeat level for the looper so it doesn't degrade as fast. You hold the feedback button 1 and 4 and then adjust the repeat control. But yea, even my Infinity Loopers degrade when adding new layers. I guess it depends on how you use it. I kind of like the degrading loops if you want to be more involved in the loop. Hahah my only con is that there's no mix knob.
@WhatsUpWhitey3 жыл бұрын
@@aBunchOfPedals you can hold the 1 & 4 feedback buttons down and adjust the playback volume with the echo level knob.
@WhatsUpWhitey3 жыл бұрын
If you hold down the far left foot switch in Sound on Sound mode it keeps the repeats from degrading. You will know it is in this mode because the light turns red and blinks.
@federicouffreduzzi26013 жыл бұрын
Yeah you can bring down or up the loop! Anyway, i don't think the degrade volume change it's about how many layers you put, it can degrade just with one layer. The crucial function it's the Rec input (like in real tape reel), and the left side of the Volante. It would be have been great to have a degraded loop at a standard volume, or being able anyway to decide. I put a DBA Rooms after that works with dry (so i can boost the loop) and fx, so problem solved for me!
@WhileWeWereSleeping3 жыл бұрын
I love how it degrades. I sometimes keep recording for a long time and can boost the volume of the recording after. Would be nice if you had an option to keep the volume while it degrades. But not complaining, such an intuitive great sounding pedal

Great demo, thanks! 😎👍🏼 Just two quick questions, please? 1. The Volante isn’t ‘True Stereo’, though … is it? 2. Is it possible to use an Expression Pedal to change from eg unpanned heads, to ping-pong panned heads … ? Thanks! 🙏🏼

I don't know what I did today but my volante sounded amazing after saving a peset to feedback 4 slot. Afterwards all the presets had a trail of what I played. How do I get this back? It sounded epic 😎

Love this pedal. I know a lot prefer that el cap but I kept the volante. I just wish it had a separate crinkle control like the volante. The looper on it is perfect though. Super intuitive.
@aBunchOfPedals3 жыл бұрын
I never even tried the El Cap before. I always wanted to but it was just one of those things I never got around to. Lot's of delays floating around this house lol.
@WhatsUpWhitey3 жыл бұрын
I completely agree with missing the crinkle control from the El Cap. It’s the only drawback I have come across with the Volante. Was hoping they might add it as a secondary feature to the mechanics knob.
@sph33_3 жыл бұрын
@@WhatsUpWhitey Same. At this point, I don't see it happening unfortunately. To me, everything about the volante is as good as or better than the El Cap I had except for that crinkle control. That's ok though, the Volante looper is much better for me and that makes it a better overall choice for me.
@WhatsUpWhitey3 жыл бұрын
@@sph33_ the ability to select the multiple playback heads are by far my favorite feature. You can get awesome percussive repeats or make it really wash out for some ambient playing as well.

One thing I wonder, which I also read on forums: Is the Volante also a stereo delay when only using 1 head? People in Forums said no and that the Timeline is by far superior regarding stereo when only using 1 head in volante and that volante only creates stereo when using the ping pong panning. To my ear it sounds like that is not true, it feels like some subtle stereo fx going on... To my ear the volante sounds more realistic as well. At least that would fit the bigsky/nightsky comparison... To my surprise, nightsky dense without any mod and glimmer felt a lot more realistic than any bigsky algorithm.... I have a timeline allready but this pedal.... I cant stop thinking bout it... its unique. Just not sure if I could justify another delay pedal... Timeline has to stay for me, its a nobrainer. Thoughts?
@StavK Жыл бұрын
The Volante manual mentions that when not panning the heads, there is quote “a psychoacoustic stereo effect” applied.

@@StavK Jup. Have it since decenber and its true BUT the newer big box units volante and nightsky are not as broad as bigsky and timeline

Volante is NOT a true stereo pedal, no … the two inputs are immediately summed to MONO 🙄, before that (now mono) input is processed by the pedal, then split to be output from the two (‘stereo’) outputs …
@marcusstrymon6935 ай бұрын
@@kierenmoore3236 I know... its like that for most pedals anyway. But I found that its not such a big deal, for stereo looping I use timeline

So is this pedal needed if you already have the Soma Cosmos? I'm trying to decide on this or the Cosmos...I know this is more of a delay and the other is a very ambient style machine, but is there a supreme difference?
