Many people, myself included, have been waiting for years to see what/if Strymon would release as a sequel to their amazing El Capistan delay. Well, here it is folks: the Volante! And it does not disappoint. Pretty much anything a delay nerd could want in a magnetic echo simulating pedal!
Bass used: Dingwall ABZ 6 String
Other effects used: Boss OC-2, Hiero B.E.A.D. Fuzz, Boss DC-2W, and Moog MF-101, Way Huge Porkloin

Awesome video--this thing is incredible. I've only just scratched the surface of it so far and you really made it sing. Question: apart from the form factor (if size is an issue on a given board), do you think there is any reason to hang onto the El Cap if you have one of these? I mean, is there anything this can't do that that the El Cap does?

Zachary Rizer is the Sound on Sound function basically identical? i've been wanting to get this and sell the el cap but that's one thing i haven't seen - robust demos on SOS yet.

Its gorgeous on its own, but in a band situation I always find myself going back to plain old digital repeats. Every time I tried to use any kind of modulated delay the character of it just gets lost in the mix

have you ever used fuzzes on octaves up to emulate saxy/brassy kinda things ? ive found they squish the attack in a nice way
