Anyways - For 1, Steve did the same about a woman who was being ab8sed and told her to just slap her ab8ser since she was taller and a bit more rounder. 2) it’s interesting because not that long ago so many popular sitcoms had jokes about ab8sing women and spanking grown women like she was her husband’s child instead of wife. It wasn’t that long ago ab8se towards women was ignored. Meanwhile so many of the people complaining about double standard sneer at feminism when literally feminism is about treating everyone equally (this does not mean for misogynistic people to go trying to square up to a woman when on average it’s an unfair fight and unless your life is in danger everyone should walk away). 3) Steve is a cop and some of them don’t take domestic violence seriously.

If you can’t do it for yourself, do it for your kids. I grew up hearing and seeing my dad get drunk and beat the crap outta my mom and it still traumatizes me to this day. He almost killed her. If it wasn’t for my brother running and getting help (he was 11 at the time) she would have been dead. They don’t change unless they want to and trust me, they don’t want to. My dad was an alcoholic and would hit her when he was drinking. He never did stop drinking and ended up dying from an accident while drinking. I ended up in an abusive relationship and really wish I would have trusted my instincts and listened to everyone. Thankfully that relationship didn’t last long because I left as soon as he started becoming aggressive. My kids safety is number one. Don’t ever put any man above your kids. They don’t want to see their mama sad and bruised up. Get out now, he won’t change he’s giving you broken promises. They will say anything they can to keep you under their control.
