The tafsir of ‘a fitnatoeh asoedoe minal katal’ (being trailed is worse then death). Qatadah, ikrimah and others say that fitnah here means shirk.

You focused a lot on memorisation and not faham I was with you in dammaj one thing I remember about you, Allah says whomever he wishes good for he gives him understanding of the deen, whereby the scholars say it doesn’t say whomever Allah wishes good for he gives him memorisation of the deen.
