Just purchased the AC 225 Arc Stick machine today! My first experience with welding was MIG, started doing stick at work & totally fell in love with it! Was gonna get a Miller Thunderbolt but the reviews for this machine are off the charts! Thanks Lincoln 💪🏼

All the sudden AGAIN this is a great welder but they shot up the price. Make it affordable. Although I bought a few on marketplace for super cheap and still working old buz boxes. I would like a brand new or used ac/dc model but I refuse to pay 500 to 700 for a new one just saying. Very cool old welders I love it. New welder here just learning. Have fun guys.
@9_nein_93 жыл бұрын
I agree. Way overpriced now. Not affordable for a guy starting out or just welding at home. That's why Lincoln sold millions of these cheap machines. Sad to see another company get greedy.

Are the ones sold at Lowes the same Quality as a welding supply store? I know the big box stores get special units that have corners cut. I want a new one that is as reliable as an old one.

Cody, yes! The AC 225 and AC/DC 225 125 Arc welders are the same product regardless if purchased at a retailer or a distributor.

Could you replace the stinger and ground clamp
@LincolnElectricRetail3 жыл бұрын
James, our customer service team can help you with this. Give them a call at 866-236-0044 extension 1. We’ve made many of these welders over the years, so please have the product code number when you call. It should be located on the exterior of the box. Look for a four or five digit number located near the serial number. They can help you find the correct replacement part number and where to buy it. Thank you

Im a hardcore lincoln stick welder guy i think they are the best..... however 125 amps on DC isnt sh!t. Yea its ok if all you weld with is 1/8" 6010 or 6011 and 3/32 7018 and dont weld anything heavier than 1/4" material. Forget burning 1/8" 7018 cause at 125 amps its barely going to keep the rod lit... at 20% duty cycle yeeaaaa.

Yeah, if you need more powerful DC the next step up from the "tombstone " AC/DC 225/125 would be the Idealarc ® 250. It provides up to 250A DC, 300A AC, at a 30% duty cycle. Currently the MSRP sits at $5333.00. But since this machine has been produced since at least the 1960s and is very rugged and reliable, there are many used ones on the market in good condition for around $500 or so.
@David-mt4qx5 ай бұрын
So 20% duty cycle ain’t good. How ever the machine is still good?
@Sparky-ww5re5 ай бұрын
@@David-mt4qx with a 20% duty cycle you can weld continuously for 2 minutes before having to rest the machine for 8 minutes before resuming. While this may seem horrible and unproductive, it's not as bad as it seems. Changing electrodes, chipping the flux off, wire brushing any remaining flux, repositioning yourself and/or the work, etc. plus the fact a typical welding electrode is consumed in about one minute give or take. All that being said, for general repair work around the house or farm, a 20% duty cycle is no big deal, a minor annoyance at the worst.
