From what I see and read Steiger built these then shipped them to Allis Chalmers who then repainted them and then sold them. This AC-440 and our other AC-440 have spots where the paint rubbed off slightly revealing green paint. One would assume the main frame / components and shell where series 1 bearcats that just needed an engine, wheels, and hood pieces which got assembled at Allis Chalmers.

@thesteigerchannel9956 That's very interesting. Earlier yesterday, I saw two older Bearcat Steigers that looked identical to the AC you have in the video. And if I'm not mistaken, Steiger also had a hand in building models for Ford and International, possibly more.

​@@jasondrinovsky7962 Yes you are correct. Steiger Bearcats where used in Allis Chalmer 440's and Internationals. The AC-440 was the same as a series 1 bearcat but had different nose pieces and hood. The Internationals where also the same but with a nose redesign, different axles and they put their own international motors which where an early model DT-466 or their V8 engine. Their models are 4366, 4386, 4568, 4586, and 4786. All of those and AC-440's are basically bearcat 1 or 2 series frames with either a different design or different drivetrain. Steiger also partnered up with ford to produce the Ford FW series. Those where based on the Series 3 Bearcat, Cougar, and Panther.
