Malcolm found such a new sense of creativity when he kicked his habit of alcoholism that he began writing not only lots of music, but also lyrics for the first time since 1975... relieving Brian of those duties from then on. Seriously, after Mal sobered up, he and Angus wrote about two albums worth of material when they started working on the Razor's Edge. Brian was busy with court hearings while settling his divorce, so the Young's told him not to worry about writing the lyrics for the album since they already had lots of it written. They liked their own lyrics and Brian was perfectly fine with not having to write lyrics anymore, so the Youngs just wrote all of the lyrics afterword. Stop with conspiracy theories and actually do some research on the band. The answers are there if you pull your head out of your ass and look for them.

The issue I have is that Brian Johnson has always come across as being deceptive. His complete amnesia regarding meeting Bon Scott in the mid seventies is a perfect example. He meets Bon Scott, plays a show with Bon Scott, drinks with Bon Scott, then years later turns on a television and sees Bon Scott playing with ACDC, buys their Let There Be Rock record, and starts covering songs like Whole Lotta Rosie. He knows what Bon Scott thought about his performance in Torquay, knows that the Young brothers auditioned him on the recommendation of the late Bon Scott, and Bon’s parents know that Johnson and Bon met in Torquay in the mid seventies, yet when Johnson meets Bon’s parents and they say you met our son at Torquay, Johnson responds “I don’t think so.” It’s complete horseshit, of course. Now, the six songs Johnson wrote lyrics for Geordie are undoubtedly the most banal, insipid, uninspired lyrics likely ever put to music. It’s also no secret that the Young brothers wrote the majority of lyrics after the Back In Black record. The lyrics to For Those About To Rock are a perfect example. Now, Johnson might add or change a line here or there, but the Young brother wrote the creative bulk. This also explains why at some point Johnson’s name was omitted entirely from the songwriting credits. Johnson has never been a great lyricist or, for that matter, even a good lyricist. The man who wrote the lyrics to those six songs for Geordie is not the man who wrote the lyrics to the songs on Back In Black. When Bon’s notebooks went missing from his flat after his death, they undoubtedly went straight into the hands of the Young brothers. From there it was simply a matter of construction and filling in the blanks. There is a reason why Bon Scott believed the new record was going to be “the big one” and that’s because the lion’s share of work was already done. Why, after all, would Bon say “the work is done” and believe the new record was going to be “the big one” if, as the Young brothers claim, the songs hadn’t been written yet? Why did Scott’s notebooks-the ones he was always writing ideas and lyrics in-mysteriously disappear from his flat after his death? Look, the reason why the lyrics to the songs on Back In Black sound so much like Bon Scott is because only the man who wrote the brilliant lyrics to the first five AC/DC records could’ve written the lyrics to the songs on Back In Black. Doesn’t it strike you as odd that the first six AC/DC records are lyrically brilliant and every record after Back In Black is lyrically mediocre? Do you honestly believe the man who wrote the lyrics to “Natural Born Loser” also wrote the lyrics to “You Shook Me All Night Long?” And if so, why-when Bon Scott wrote masterpiece after masterpiece-could Johnson never write another song on par with anything on Back In Black? Hell, as mentioned earlier, at some point Johnson wasn’t even included in the songwriting process. The Young brothers wrote the music and the lyrics and Johnson would come in and sing what they had already put on paper. This is exactly what I suspect happened with Back In Black-only instead of the Young brothers producing the lyrics, it was Bon Scott who provided those. It is no secret, of course, that the Bon Scott estate receives royalties from Back In Black-a record that according to Johnson and the Young brothers, Bon had no part in writing. Strange, huh? The only reason Johnson and the Young brothers trash Jesse Fink is because Jesse has his finger on the nerve of it all-and he keeps pressing on it-and he’ll keep pressing on it until the truth comes out. But we already know the truth, now don’t we?

There's also the fact that both Young brothers and Bon were rehearsing in the studio at the time of Bon's death, what were they rehearsing? I Love Brian, but AC/DC are born liars, as has been proven over the years, rarely the same story twice, next time you listen to the album imagine Bon singing it, there's no shame in Brian following the Young brothers instructions to lie, I can see the point from a business point of view, but still, I think we know the truth deep down inside our hearts.

The band was under intense pressure and in pre production for their international breakout album. Bon's lyric book went missing and was never recovered from his personal belongings. The band fought tooth and nail against Mutt Lange that the 'Shook me all night long' melody NOT be changed. Also, Brian Johnson himself told a story that when he was 'writing' the lyrics to the songs that "Bon cam into the room and helped me write them." Finally, there are substantiated rumors that Bon Scott's family gets royalty payments for the Back in Black album that he had 'nothing to do with'. The lyrics for this album and the follow up album were iconic. After that? The band fell of a cliff until 1990, when Johnson wasn't allowed to write any more lyrics. All coincidences? You be the judge. In their defense however, they really had little choice but to prop up the new singer and the breakout album. Giving Bon the spotlight would only make the endless comparisons worse. AC/DC were on the brink of international recognition - what's a band to do?

I had a drink with him when he was in town after Bon died and he told me they offered him the gig and that all the songs for the next album were already written. I was shocked he turned them down. He was pretty shaken up Bon died and felt no one could fill his shoes. I did not even realize that Bon was not credited on the album when it came out. Bon was also very Philsophical and emotional in poetic ways with his songwriting such as "Ride On", "Overdose", "Night Prowler", "Its A Long Way To The Top", "Aint No Fun (Waiting Round To Be A Millionaire), "Down Payment Blues", "Gone Shootin'" "Gimme A Bullet", "Touch Too Much" among many more that aren't simply about dirty stuff. Brian is a great singer, but he couldn’t write lyrics in Geordie. The lyrics on BIB are pure Bon Scott. Maybe Brian added a word for writing credit, but that’s it. Besides, writing is a craft, one gets better as they hone their talents, no backwards. There was a HUGE drop off in lyrical quality from BIB through Fly on the Wall. It’s time to come clean and admit Bon’s involvement in writing BIB. Angus has slipped up over the years and admitted as much (see Kerrang!). Give credit where credit’s due.

In a documentary about Bon, Malcom states the they were laying down tracks and Bon was to record lyrics the next week but sadly passed. "made from scratch so quickly" You write this as if you think the band had 0 material or ideas. Ofc it wasnt made from scratch as the creative process was an ongoing thing for years. The issue is not the time, the issue is the claim about Bon writing songs for the album and the band (well, Mal and Ang) ripping Bon Scott's estate off and basically showing the finger to their ex-front man. Such a statement is insane when they loved the guy. There's no way in hell that they would do that.

It is their best album and it is amazing that he could pull it off first time, lyrically included. The Young boys owe a lot to Brian, he kept them going. The odds were not good given Bon had so much character, but Brian did it, made it his own. I was 10 when that album came out so I was right in its cross hairs, and it blew my mind. Just perfect riff after perfect riff. And Brian's rhythm, almost rapping. No wonder the Beastie Boys requested to sample one of the riffs, Brian's inspiration. They said no, thank goodness.

Jesse Finks book Bon Last Highway said he talked to Bons ex Silver who said Bon called her on that night and said he completed the lyrics let’s celebrate. She said no I want to stay in. Bon also used to tell girlfriend in FL she had chartreuse eyes. Lyrics would make sense knocking me out with her chartreuse eyes. Not sightless eyes. But uneducated Young’s wouldn’t know what that meant. Angus said they had Brian tryout with Back in Black and he could do the scales in the chorus perfectly. Finally nail in coffin is interview before album,Powerup, came out Cliff said he did the album cause Mal was on this album just as much as Bon was on Back in Black. Plus the Scott estate gets royalties for the album. Why would they get royalty? Also management broke in Bons flat and stole everything. Including his notebook he always carried with ideas for lyrics. Brian wrote 4 unforgettable songs with Geordie. Yet suddenly he has amazing lyrics that he couldn’t ever duplicate. Yeah. Bon wrote lyrics with double meanings, tongue-in-cheek smart and intelligent lyrics. He wrote silly-sad stuff about being scorned after a date. He wrote masterpieces about life as a drug addict ("Gone shootin'") and about not being able to pay your bills ("Down payment blues"). Apart from all the hits "Let There be Rock,", "Highway to Hell" etc. Just listen to the lyrics on BIB and you'd have to be a complete moron not to substanciate between Bon and Brians lyrics. "Shake a leg" is a typical Brian Johnson song. Nice tempo, good riffs but complete nincompoop lyrics and none of Bons "streetcorner poet" stuff that had been such an important part of their earlier stuff. And if Bon didn't write anything of the lyrics on BiB, why have the Youngs paid money even to this day for Bon contributing to the record? It's not like they're the most giving family in the world ;)

Huge production and it's got great music and very well-crafted lyrics, Idk why the skeptics settle with only targeting Back In Black when there's plenty to be said about For those... as well. The missing notebook of Bon surely would have more notes scribbled in it than only titles for songs for 1 album, being Back In Black since he wrote in this book for years on the road. The decline in lyrical quality was cause of the band not spending as much time on the lyrics, it's that simple.

If you do a little digging, Angus interviews say that Bon never had a chance to contribute to BIB. When asked about Bons death, he says that Bon was drinking in the studio while they were working on BIB. Bons girlfriend, Margaret 'Silver' Smith, says that Bon had a small note book that he carried, full of lyrics. It went missing after he passed. I have the entire AC/DC catalog. Been listening since 74'. The lyrics previous to, and including, BIB, are word play at its finast. My interest in AC/DC these days are those albums only. They soon just banked on riffs, power cords, basically Angus. Why did the lyrics go to shit? Ran out of ideas? No matter what you believe, it always circles back to money.

I have loads of respect for both Bon and Brian so I have to admit I love the lyrical work from both singers and I know some people will agree with me? And some will disagree? Both ways are fine , but as everyone is entitled to their opinions I am mine as well. I’m not being disrespectful to one singer or the other it’s just my opinion that they are both great. And clearly? You can tell what tracks are purely Bon’s and what ones are Brian’s. That’s what makes the album so iconic that and many and I mean all (in my opinion) of their albums and Brian’s voice is pretty amazing on the entire album.

Look, I actually like Back In Black and thought Brian Johnson did a good job singing for most part (At least his style). However, it doesn't take a genius to understand that Brian Johnson DID NOT write Back In Black. There are just way too many indications otherwise. He was not a songwriter prior to BIB and nothing of significance after before being relieved because he sucked. You don't just write the biggest hard rock album of all time from nowhere and then quickly fade away. Plus, the lyrics clearly have Bon's style all over them. There are also past interviews indicating that the songs were already written and they were ready to start recording. Brian Johnson and AC/DC are frauds in my opinion.

Brian wrote some lyrics for Hells Bells and that's it. Bon's family have been paid a large sum of royalties each year from the AC/DC camp since Back In Black and had to sign a non disclosure agreement as to what it's for, why is that? Only other song written in rehearsals before recording was Rock N Roll Ain't Noise Pollution by the Young brothers, they'd soon be writing all the songs because Brian wasn't a good lyric writer. They should just be open about that time by now as it doesn't matter, the fans want the truth. They were in a position where replacing Bon was difficult and they needed to come out with a bang and show what the future of AC/DC is.

And that will also confirm too that Morgan Freeman is Jimi Hendrix and that Lady Gaga is Amy Winehouse too! Bon Scott is alive and well! He is Colin Hay of "Men at Work". He had to hangup his image with ACDC because he hated being on the road and the demands of being on Tour from Country to Country! He wanted to make music on his own terms and traveled on tour at his own convenience and wanted to be around his family. As a Bon Scott fan i personally think Brian wrote them. It wouldn't be impossible. Just very hard to pull off. Angus himself said they were never able to record lyrics. They did however find a notebook which they used. Lyrics? Maybe? Most likely a couple but songs like back in black were definitely Brian Johnson doing. No matter who wrote them lets get this straight. It was Brian's voice that made them good. Not Bons. Its literal facts.

I love Brian as a singer but he is full of shit. Angus stated in two different rock magazine interviews in the 80s when asked that they did have Bons lyrics and that’s one reason they wanted to carry on. Pete Way of UFO said he was with Bon out celebrating him finishing writing Back in Black . Bons mom stated Bon called her in December and told her he was almost finished writing Back in Black. AC/DC own manager said he didn’t believe the writing credits were right. A rock journalist said he seen some of the lyrics to You Shook Me All Night Long in Bons notebook. The man was writing great songs like crazy at the time. Brian had never wrote a hit with Geordie and yet we are supposed to believe in two months he wrote the best selling rock album of all time.

Do more research on the subject Brian never wrote a hit in Geordie He says he come up with the lyric coming on like a hurricane from a storm during recording but that’s easily proven BS because AC/DC later released a Bon song that he uses the line in Bon just recycled the lyrics. Colin Hay of "Men at Work" is the perfect replacement 4 BrianJohnson 10 times better than Axle Rose reason being Colin Hay is Bon Scott the former lead singer of ACDC! ACDC fans are in for a shock! Bon Scott is alive and well. He is Colin Hay of "Men at Work" Because is it coincidental that they are both Aussies with Ancestral Roots to Scottland??? " The reason why he wanted out! The long time away on tour from his family and the demands of being on the road was more than he could take! He wanted to make music on his own terms and likewise to go on tour at his own conveinience! The song "Back in Black" was his resignation to move away from the spotlight! The lyrics were his signature resignation and the clue to how he would depart from the Band! "Back in black I hit the Sack! (Bon Scott was referring to how he would be supposedly found dead whlile he was asleep! and leaving the Spotlight by slowly fading to the darkness of returning back to a life of normacy away from the bright lights! "I have got nine lives! (He is referring to how he survived many dangerous events a Bike accident, alcoholisn and how he was going to reinvent himself!) "I have got "Cats eyes" (This is a important clue that he has successfully changed his identity! And the only way you would ever know its him if you ever saw him again is He had this rare "eye condition" that looked like how a Cat looks around because they would operarate independently of each other and moving in different directions! Now some people may say wait a minute they have different Birth dates! This is a common practice when hiding ones true identity together with a change of hairstyles! But I think he still played a active role in the Band with ACDC as a "Ghost Writer" because every song that ACDC sang after Bon Scotts supposed death sounded like he still had his "trait mark signature" on all of ACDC's songs! So its up to Colin Hay of "Men at Work" if he wants to come out "the darkness" of "Back in Black" to the Spotlight" to hey MTF's guess whose back from a "Back in Black" hyatus! And is there any photos of Bon Scott in a Coffin in a funeral service?? And how many photos does Colin Hay have of himself in his earlier years with him and his family??? The same goes for Morgan Freeman who is actually "Jimi Hendrix" and "Lady Gaga" who is actually "Amy Winehouse! And is it coincidental that all three just happen to burst on the Social Scene shortly after the supposed passing of these legendary "Musical Icons?????
