One of my favorite songs, fun to play. I think he plays a single C# note before the chord towards the end of the pre-chorus (6:47).

It’s funny, MalP, but I read an article a long time ago where Mal said that George had told him when he was starting out that the 3rd in a chord has no place in rock. I obviously took that to heart and so never play E major for AC/DC with a few exceptions like Live Wire. But you do in quite a few songs and you’re obviously completely right. Isn’t it funny how you can get something in your head and then let that overrule your ear? A long winded way of telling you that I enjoyed that and learned something new, as always! Thanks, MalP

Yeah it’s hard sometimes to tell if he’s using that E major. In this one you can definitely tell.

one of my absolute fav tracks from this album. could argue that this track is better than ballbreaker which is currently I think the most streamed song on the Ballbreaker album (Spotify)

Great lesson and choice of song as always! Could you tell us what settings you are using on your Marshall SV20H? Imo it's not easy to find the right tone without all too much gain 😅
@malpractice59043 жыл бұрын
Thanks man. The settings on the SV20 is the presence is 3. Bass is 3 middle is 2 treble is 6. I’m only using the high treble input. So the high treble is set at 2 for the cleaner Malcolm and I just turn that up for more gain.I’m also using an attenuator. I’m in pretty room so those settings seem to work. But I’m always messing with them. Sometimes I feel there is way too much bass but the trick is to find that thick growl without a lot of bass
