Maybe the perfect AC/DC song. Angus is a master of subtle syncopation, easily the best phrasing ever heard from a blues rock player.

Malcolm had more power in one chord than most guitarists could muster in an entire song. That’s a hell of a legacy to leave.

"Hard as a Rock" is a timeless classic! AC/DC's energy and raw power are unmatched, and this song perfectly captures the essence of rock 'n' roll. The riffs, the vocals, and the sheer adrenaline are just phenomenal. Always takes me back to the good old days of rock. Long live AC/DC! 🎸🔥

Yep, AC/DC survived many trends. They never fit in any but they kept going when the trend of the moment disappeared. First it was punk, AC/DC were playing more classic rock 'n' roll (one could say they had a punk-like attitude, especially with Bon) but when the punk wave disappeared they were around, then it was hair metal, they didn't look like a hair metal band at all and when hair metal disappeared they were still around and strong, then it was grunge and when that disappeared they were still around and strong. A true testament that they have been one of the greatest bands in rock history, not many other bands have been strong and outliving trends like they did.

They went through disco, punk, grunge, you name it eras without getting influenced by any of them...unlike most other bands who thought changing with the times was the best way to go. Those bands fizzled out while AC/DC keeps on being relevant to this day, simply by sticking to doing what they know best.

I fucking love this song. The rhythm just picked me up as a 15 year old and launched me into the stratosphere into awareness of rock and roll and how it can just pulsate inside one’s veins. Now 40 years old, I’m going to go and cut a set of winding stairs in this old house I’m working on and listen to the regular “beat” garbage coming out of the radio. But I’ll at least have one good tune to get me through the day. So glad I saw the guys live 7 years ago. Definitely a bucket list achievement for me.

I'm 4 years younger than you, but I remember buying this on a cassette tape version sometime in 1996 (one of those things where the album cover looked cool, which made me buy the album) and I never looked back. This was my first AC/DC album, and it was a long journey going backward discovering their VERY long list of the older classic albums/songs after this album. Other than hearing the typical Back in Black songs on the FM, this was my introduction to AC/DC. And I loved this album from the very first listen. Now all these years later, and being fully familiar with all the different eras of the band, this still remains one of my favorite albums of theirs. I don't care what anyone says, it's very solid and still rocks my ass off.

@@benkkonzsella8544 My dad says he got to see Hendrix in S.F. after he got back from being in the Navy during Vietnam, circa 1968 I think. He said Hendrix just blew everyone's mind, especially with the acid he claims he was taking back then. He said he was hanging out around Haight Ashbury for a minute, but says he much preferred going to the beach or places like Big Sur instead of hanging out in the city.
