And knowing the story behind this in retrospect, that they decided to do it as a form of thank you to their French fans the day before the concert makes it all the more special.

Man these guys just love to play. Bon Scott was legendary no question, but man Brian Johnson quickly adapted and they put out several really amazing albums...just having fun, riding on the advice from Bon's family to continue the band because it's what he would have wanted. Brian does an admirable job on this, but Ride On is one of those songs that--especially with Bon not being on this Earth anymore--is impossible to do. In my opinion, this is probably Bon's most personal song; giving him a human, vulnerable side to all of his hard partying ways.
