Whether he’s young or old, Brian Johnson is in my top five of the best vocalists in hard rock history, just as AC/DC is one of the top five groups in history. I was born in 73, so when I first heard AC/DC Brian was already in and I was instantly sold. I was at every show when they came around. Brian just had so much fun, and really included the crowd. For such a small guy he had this explosive voice and came across as a street fighter on stage. What amazes me about this band is they kept their sound throughout all the decades while selling out stadiums. They never went out of character and that is unheard of.

As for Hells Bells, Brian said on the Dan Rather interview that he literally described a heavy tropical storm in the Bahamas, where they recorded Back in black (Compass Point studios, Nassau). He may have added some references to Bon as well (you‘re only young but you‘re gonna die), but for the most part it is inspired by the storm that went down when Brian wrote the dark, menacing lyrics. Angus and Brian once said how the cannons came to be added to For Those About To Rock... They said while working on that album, cannons were being shot off for Charles and Diana's wedding. The band liked the sound and added them in. Hells Bells was written in honor of Bon Scott. Why I believe Brian works so well is the fact that his voice and Bons are a similar color. (Texture) The fact that Bon said for the band to get Brian was a great compliment from Bon. I love multiple genres of music. I have ACDC, Backstreet Boys, Eagles, Metallica, and Beach Boys all on my playlists. Even Paul McCartney is an ACDC fan. It’s so fascinating to me because it’s almost FATE that Brian got the job. As if the universe wanted him/needed him to get it. Before Bon Scott joined up with the Young brothers to form AC/DC he was in a band called Fraternity. Brian was in a band called Geordie who had a couple of top 40 hits in the UK. When Fraternity was touring Great Britain they had a gig where they were opening for Geordie. When Brian and his fellow band mates arrived they suited up and performed their set. Well, midway through a song Brian collapsed on his back and was flailing around; apparently having been struck by appendicitis. Unbeknownst however to Brian, Bon had been watching the set and when Brian began kicking and flailing Bon was over the moon because he thought it was part of his act. Brian’s stage antics reminded Bon of his heroes, James Brown and Little Richard. Later that same night, Geordie joined Fraternity on their tour bus and had a couple of drinks then went their separate ways the next day. Sometime later Bon joined up with AC/DC and one day mentioned offhand that he wasn’t impressed with the rock scene in Britain when he toured there previously, EXCEPT for this one band with a wild singer named Brian Johnson who reminded him of Little Richard. He was really impressed by that Brian fella. And Bon Scott didn’t like too many singers. Flash forward to 1980. Bon tragically passes away from alcohol poisoning. Malcom and Angus remain undecided about whether or not they should continue the band. They’d just broken through with Highway to Hell, but they weren’t superstars…yet. They decide to continue. A random fan from Cleveland, Ohio managed to contact their camp. The fan who followed the scene in Britain suggested a guy whom he believed would be a good fit for the band: Brian Johnson. Malcolm and Angus Young were thrown, “Wasn’t that the bloke Bon said he was impressed with all those years ago?” They recalled. Then their producer Mutt Lange also suggested a guy he’d known of on the scene…a man named BRIAN JOHNSON. The name kept coming up from two random sources so Angus and Malcolm knew then that they had to find this Brian and audition him. Brian, meanwhile…had been living with his parents in his native Newcastle and pretty much retired from music. Geordie wasn’t going anywhere except for clubs so he’d opened his own auto body shop. One day he got a call from an Eastern European woman who told him that a particular band wanted him to come to audition. The woman was hesitant to name the band but eventually relented and told Johnson that it was AC/DC, whom he’d heard of because they were developing a big following. However…Johnson didn’t want to drive six hours from Newcastle to London because he was thirty-two, had his own business, was semi-retired from showbiz and was convinced he wouldn’t get the gig because AC/DC was a whole other level. So he declined. But, as fate would have it, a friend of his who did some work for Monte Python called about thirty minutes later to offer Brian some work. A commercial for Hoover vacuums. The gig would pay him £350 plus residuals, but it was in London. However since it was a paid gig, Brian quickly accepted and then called back the mysterious woman to tell her that he’d be in London the following Monday and would be able to do the audition. Monday came and Brian left the studio having done the Hoover jingle and collected his money. It was late in the afternoon and he found himself stuck at a crossroads: He could drive a mile down the street and meet with AC/DC, a gig he’d never get. Or…he could drive the 5-6 hours back to Newcastle because he had to get home and open up his shop early in the morning. Brian chose to go to the audition. After a warm welcome from the band, they performed a few songs with Brian. Almost immediately Malcolm got goosebumps; magic was in the air. Angus and Malcolm were caught in Brian’s spell. They NEVER wanted the audition to end. It was like love at first sight. But Brian had to leave, despite his reluctance to do so since he felt the magic too. A few days later the band called him back and the rest is history.

Fact is: Back in Black is a gigantic success, but there were alot great albums following. Think of Ballbreaker or Stiff Upper Lip. There is tons of material out there describing the writing process of Back in Black. They made it on the Bahamas, including the writing. No need for any stupid theories. And there is no need for a Bon-Camp or a Brian-Camp, as they are a-historical. The band has two major historical phases, a shorter one and a longer one, and many top selling albums... Go figure...

ACDC fans are in for a shock! Bon Scott is alive and well. He is Colin Hay of "Men at Work" Because is it coincidental that they are both Aussies with Ancestral Roots to Scottland??? " The reason why he wanted out! The long time away on tour from his family and the demands of being on the road was more than he could take! He wanted to make music on his own terms and likewise to go on tour at his own conveinience! The song "Back in Black" was his resignation to move away from the spotlight! The lyrics were his signature resignation and the clue to how he would depart from the Band! "Back in black I hit the Sack! (Bon Scott was referring to how he would be supposedly found dead whlile he was asleep! and leaving the Spotlight by slowly fading to the darkness of returning back to a life of normacy away from the bright lights! "I have got nine lives! (He is referring to how he survived many dangerous events a Bike accident, alcoholisn and how he was going to reinvent himself!) "I have got "Cats eyes" (This is a important clue that he has successfully changed his identity! And the only way you would ever know its him if you ever saw him again is He had this rare "eye condition" that looked like how a Cat looks around because they would operarate independently of each other and moving in different directions! Now some people may say wait a minute they have different Birth dates! This is a common practice when hiding ones true identity together with a change of hairstyles! But I think he still played a active role in the Band with ACDC as a "Ghost Writer" because every song that ACDC sang after Bon Scotts supposed death sounded like he still had his "trait mark signature" on all of ACDC's songs! So its up to Colin Hay of "Men at Work" if he wants to come out "the darkness" of "Back in Black" and back into the Spotlight" again to say to his loyal fans and say to them! "Hey MTF's guess whose back from a "Back in Black" hyatus! And is there any photos of Bon Scott in a Coffin in a funeral service?? And how many photos does Colin Hay have of himself in his earlier years with him and his family??? The same goes for Morgan Freeman who is actually "Jimi Hendrix" and "Lady Gaga" who is actually "Amy Winehouse! And is it coincidental that all three just happen to burst on the Social Scene shortly after the supposed passing of these legendary "Musical Icons????? Can you imagine if all three decided to tour together. And their Band name would be called "Grievance Clean Detox Revival??? Sincerely, Patrick S.N. Iriarte "Nostradamus of the Mariana

If you lie down with a quality set of headphones, not those tiny things clogged up with earwax and puss, you will hear the difference if you set up your music files properly. And don't start picking them to pieces, or comparing and rating, Listen To The Bloody Music, enjoy the evolution and each member on his own merits.

No they weren't, it's a stupid myth, if he'd have written the songs they'd have been credited to him. As far as that jerk off who makes the claim about some mysterious notebook that Bonn had already written all the lyrics for Back in Black in he's just some washed up has been from days gone by whose trying to make himself relevant again. Not that I believe someone besides Brian Johnson wrote those lyrics but to anyone who says there's no way he did if he didn't the answer is obvious who did. Who was with him in the Bahamas when it's known he wrote them? The person who's considered to be the greatest producer and song writer of the era, Mutt Lang. There's no way Bonn wrote them, first off if he had those guy's would have credited him, but following the timeline he was burned out really bad and had even mentioned to several people that he was getting so tired of the whole music scene he was considering quiting the band but he had a hard time coming to terms with the thought of breaking that to the rest of the guy's, he probably wasn't serious but that certainly not the mindset of someone who wrote the lyrics for what some people consider the greatest rock album of all time. I don't believe anyone but Brian Johnson wrote those songs, he was just hitting his stride in life and he was on top of the world over getting the dream gig of a lifetime, yea, he wrote them. And I refuse to believe that those guy's would have shit all over the memory of their buddy Bonn by ripping him off for the credit of having written them, I can't believe some of the fans who think that they've got more feelings and respect for Bonn than the guy's who were in the band with him, for them to think so highly of Bonn and believe that his band mates that'd been through so much with him would have ripped his memory off like that implies that they think more of Bonn and cared more about him than those guy's did, what an ego trip that is, wow.

Despite their success with Brian, they should've went with Alan Fryer. He sounded like Bon and had a great presence. He died a few years ago.

In Australia and New Zealand, they were on Albert Productions. (Some early albums were on Music World in NZ).

Most people don’t know that Krokus singer Marc Storace was another option to replace Bon. I wouldn’t mind hearing him sing some AC/DC songs after Bon’s death but to me he’s too similar. “Long Stick Goes Boom” is a great example
@Gratefulman19652 жыл бұрын
Marc declined the offer from AC/DC, He stated that at the time of Bon’s death Krokus was really starting to pick up steam so he wanted to honor his commitment to the band. Marc also says he is okay these days with the Bon comparison. He hated that for years. He said as an artist you strive for your individuality and that comparison really rubbed him wrong when he was younger. Now if you want to hear Marc pull some real AC/DC tones out listen to the 2013 release “Dirty Dynamite” Tracks like Hard rocking man, Go baby go, Hallelujah rock n roll, Live ma life. I’ll tell you it’s like Bon made into his 60’s. Marc just kills on that album🎶

I don’t believe he would’ve lasted as long as Brian and I’m glad he never joined as I’m a fan of both bands. Will definitely have to give those tracks a listen. Thank you!

After listening to that it’s neat to think of it that way. We can only imagine what Bon would’ve accomplished had he lived

@@shawnshepherd7128 Marc has that natural voice like Bon had. Where Brian really has to push his head voice as they call it, Marc, like Bon sing from the gut and effortlessly. Glad you liked the tracks. Bon was that it guy for me as a teenager playing in a band in 1979. Miss him tons!🎶

@@shawnshepherd7128 Brian is a good blues rock singer but he has always reminded me of the lead singer for Nazareth Dan Mccafferty. Dans vocals on Hair of the dog album must have been an inspiration to Brian. Superb album and Brian is a stand up guy for taking on a tough job with AC/DC ( As Brian has stated he was a 30 something loser living in his parents basement when AC/DC called) and pulling it off.🎶

Bon Scott wrote the back in black songs, we all know it!

Why in the Hell would they have written a song called back in black if Bon was still alive? It wouldn’t make a lick of sense being that you wear black when you’re in mourning from someone dying.

I thought this was like a real biography but instead it's a dude spouting bs about bon writing back in black. I love bon and if he wrote any of it the boys would've definitely given him credit. Him saying there was no way they could've written it that quickly was even dumber. A lot of bands get together somewhere for a couple of weeks or a month and shit out an album. The only difference is most of the time they're not masterpieces

Why the hell Brian and the band would lie on BiB lyrics..? Brien himself says it. It was written by Brian, by this time. Point. end of debate.

Exactly, as far as that snaggle toothed bald headed jerk off he's so biased it's unbelievable, watch the other half of this documentary about the "Bonn years" and he has no reservations about saying that as far as he's concerned Bonn Scott was and is the only singer of AC/DC and said he's never seen them in concert with Brian and never will, which just makes him one of those typical Bonn Uber fans that hates the fact that Back in Black exploded overnight into the greatest rock album of all time and just won't admit that Bonn had nothing to do with it. And what cracks me up is he's supposed to be such an authority on rock music and the answer as to why that album was so big is right in front of his face and even written on the album but his emotions and bias keeps him from putting 2 and 2 together, it's called Mutt Lang, the single greatest producer of that era who everything he touched turned to gold in those days. I get your average fan not getting that but him supposedly being an authority on rock music can't figure that one out speaks volumes about why he's never made enough money to get those teeth fixed, because he's a washed up mediocre in the first place has been whose trying to keep himself relevant by doing interviews like this and making outlandish claims about lyrics he supposedly saw written down, before Malcolm died him and Angus both made it perfectly clear that Bonn had nothing to do with the lyrics for Back in Black, and given the time frame when they did I wouldn't be surprised if it was a response to him and that other guy after this documentary came out, if you know about Bonn at the time it's really difficult to believe he wrote lyrics like that, he was burned out so bad from years of touring and recording that he'd told people not only did he need a break from everything but also if it wasn't for feeling like he'd have been letting down the other guy's he'd have called it quits, doesn't sound to me like someone who wrote the lyrics to the greatest rock album ever. That guy is a first rate douchenugget if there's ever been one, I've seen him in other rock documentaries and he's just a washed up has been past his day.
