@robertsprinke53364 жыл бұрын
@@Jay-yy3sk at first they need to buy the old one or at least the property, then they need to tear down the old stadium, get in huuuuge debts to build a new one. Even with loans they can't get money in that fast that they would be able to buy better players as they do right now. So for the time they get in debt they will spend less money then they're doing at the moment. I just experienced that with my club. We were told that a new stadium will bring new opportunities, more money whatsoever, but the first 10-15 years were really hard, the club was depending on signing free agents (=higher salary) and other young talents refused to join the club as it was branded as "indebted club", or they wanted to leave as fast as they could. That damaged the club for the future and they are just recovering from it almost two decades after they've build it. Personally I believe that planning and building a new stadium is something a club should do when they are in good times, and then it would be still hard. AC Milan is in bad times for almost a decade. On the other side you can easily lose support, atmosphere and the clubs identity building a generic stadium just like Arsenal and West Ham. I prefer the older Selhurst Park, Old Trafford, St.James'Park, Anfield, Goodison Park a million times over the Emirates, Wembley, Etihad, where you're only hear the away supporters on good days.

I think it is stupid to build a new stadium. Spurs built a new stadium because of the growing amount of fans. They should: - RENOVATE IT (it looks dirty, so it can look nicer and not like an abandoned dump). - Clean up the area by asking the council to do something, or Milan paying the council to do so. - GET A NEW OWNER. - IMPROVE their team. THESE ARE THE THINGS THAT MATTER! This will save lots of money and not waste money. To be fair, the Executives of the club want to monetise the team for its previous glory and history. (This is what this video set out to do). They want to make money off of building; A New Stadium, and shopping area! THEY DO NOT CARE FOR THE CLUB'S TRUELY DEDICATED FANS!

Inter made good choices on the market, they bought interesting players paying the right price and gained a lot of money selling other players. Milan had three years in a row of obscene choices on the market. During the "chinese" administration they bought players offering too much and every single of them was a failure. Last summer Milan tried to sell Silva, Suso, Kessiè, Chalanouglu, etc. before buying somone, but they had to ask too much for not losing money and nobody bought them, so they had to buy other useless players they could afford. UEFA rejected Milan from this year European League because of the debt made by those market decisions. Without cups, without good players to sell, a stadium that makes money is the only way out. Otherwise it's over.

By the way, the new stadium is a project that wants Inter too. The project is shared. They know that without a stadium it's very very hard to close the gap with Juventus.

For those saying that a new stadium wouldn't save the club is simple: A stadium that is like 50% of Milan (because they will built it with inter) = more revenue coming into the club and more money coming into the club = more quality signings So yeah a new stadium could save Milan
@danyoutube74915 жыл бұрын
What I've just read on wikipedia is that a new stadium is being proposed to be shared between the same teams, so it wouldn't change in that regard. Besides, how does sharing limit their revenue? They get the same number of home games as if they owned it outright, so why would it be less? Plus they either own or lease it for only half the cost (I presume), since Inter cover the other half of that cost. Added to that is the fact that ticket sales simply aren't as important since the age of satellite tv deals began decades ago. Although that Milan guy in this video says it is an important source of revenue, and cites the reason clubs like Arsenal (his example) make so much more; Milan don't have seats suitable for corporate activity. Oh God. It's all about not really being a football club anymore, but a general business. Who knows, it might just be enough to compensate for the fact that most big Italian clubs have had increasingly pitiful attendances for decades.

The current stadium is interesting and iconic, and a new style would just be like all the other awful, soulless structures that could as easily house a cinema multiplex, shopping centre or Pop concert venue. I know what I am about to propose would never happen, but I'd love them to go back to the way the San Siro was before they raised the stands to these vast heights. If they are going to make an aesthetic change, make one which goes back to the attractive look of a real football stadium. In practical terms, there is ONE good reason for changing the stadium- to improve the quality of the pitch. Ever since the infamous current structure was built for Italia 90, there has been a problem with getting enough light to the grass, so it doesn't grow well. It is already semi-artificial, and they have considered going full artificial, which would be the cheaper option.

Because he basically ran at a loss. You need marketing, a new stadium, a new board, a super mega rich guy who is in it for 10 years minimum. As the guy said, Italy is famous for having well paid people doing absolutely nothing so the problems they are paid to solve are milked by the same people paid to solve them. You need to work with Inter, they have more money than AC at the moment. Set strict time limits on projects and throw the wonderful club history in people’s faces. Manchester United have the same problem except they have serious reserves of cash 💰 which they are falling back on but it won’t last forever. We also have a decent stadium but I sympathise with Milan. You can’t say Berlusconi was a wonderful chairman from a business point of view he was just a billionaire owner and the club was his favourite toy. Just like Roman Abramovic at Chelsea. A billionaire owner back then pretty much instantly put the club ten years in front of rival clubs just by cash reserves alone. If he was a wonderful chairman he would left a legacy that is still paying Milan. He did not do this and the club stagnated and sent back into the Stone Age by that douchebag Chinese owner. The US owner doesn’t want the club but to recoup his losses he inherited it when the Chinese businessman defaulted in repayments. So essentially the #1 priority of the new chairman is to make his money back. The best way to do that is pump money into the club. But he is owed money by the club and doesn’t want to run it. But he wants his money back. He can’t sell the land or the stadium, it’s run down and rented anyway. He can’t instantly see increased revenues because he doesn’t have permission to build corporate boxes which is the real moneymaker on matchday. San Siro has no corporate boxes whatsoever. And the chairman wants his money back. But to keep the club alive he must spend even more. In order to keep slowly recouping his money. It’s a real catch 22 and the fact the AC Milan have no real assets (not even players), makes this situation a seriously hard one to resolve. Unless a billionaire steams in, wipes the slate clean, pays off the debt, buys and pays for a new stadium, or at least seriously renovates San Siro Giuseppe Miazza, and Inter either help, or do not help, and depending on what happens, do or don’t move with AC Milan to a new stadium. To be brutally honest unless AC Milan get a billionaire owner, they’re fucked. Such a shame. Wonderful club simply gorgeous old school stadium and a beautiful history. Forza Milan!

I'm a foreigner living in Italy and I've been to the stadio olimpico and the San siro- no comparison. The San siro is actually a historical but functional ground - it doesn't need a massive overhauling honestly. Also the fans still fill it when they're 10th in serie a; imagine how much they'll pay when Milan's good? The stadio olimpico in rome, on the other hand, is an absolute travesty. You can be sitting 2 rows behind the net and the other side of the pitch might as well be on the moon.

They need space for corporate activity or they will not make enough money to survive. It's fine if you are successful and winning trophies and money but they are not. Arsenal's stadium has enabled them to be wealthy without winning any Trophies.

Why not just renovate it instead of making it into some modern stuff. Keep the framework and modernise it if being modern is the goal
@larrylloco4 жыл бұрын
It's complicated. The clubs and the Politechnic University of Milan maintain that a renovation would be nothing but problematic and costly, while building a new stadium (and demolishing the old one) would be faster, safer and less expensive. In the meantime politics has entered the debate. Some politicians are openly against the new stadium, jumping on the nostalgia bandwagon, while the Mayor is pushing for a "two-stadiums" solution: a new stadium (for AC Milan and Inter) and a reduced, renovated old stadium (for youth and women's teams). Truth is: the clubs want a new stadium of their own, so they can get the revenues they need to compete with Juventus and european elite clubs, while the City don't want to lose the Old San Siro because they own it and it's a 100 millions-worth asset.

I've been to San Siro. It was one of a handful of stadia around the world that I was desperate to visit. Unfortunately it is trash. Worst one I've visited, I think. Of course it has history and memories that many want to cling onto but more so, perhaps, it has an iconic design and should only be replaced with something as memorable. I do believe one of the proposed replacement designs (the one that retains the strong rectangular form) has the ability to be something the fans and city can be proud to call their own for decades to come. I hope they make the right choice.

People need to understand that Inter and Milan don't own the San Siro they rent it, which means that the clubs can't earn profit from the stadium like renting it to concerts and and other activities when it's not match-day unlike other clubs in Europe who own their stadiums. The main reason big clubs in Italy can't compete financially with other European clubs is because they don't own their stadiums they rent it ( with the exception of Juventus who have been winning ever since they built their stadium in 2012 and recording all time high profits thanks to their stadium ) As an Inter fan it's hard for me to tear down San Siro and build a new stadium but the fact is it's become a burden financially for the club now and if building a new stadium and owning it means that the club can get back to compete with top European clubs again then i'm for it

I believe the San Siro is municipally owned by the city government. That’s why it’s hard for Inter or Milan to agree to make any improvements to the stadium. Having a privately owned stadium is the most ideal for any club. Since you have total control of the asset and maximize potential revenue earnings.

I dont think a new stadium will save them. I am an Inter fan to the veins but also respect Milan for their history. Inter and Milan share stadiums and despite this Inter has been able to comeback (still long to go) and have turnt the tables around. Don't forget Inter had a similar problem to Milan after we won the champions the league. Multiple changes of trainer, players, investment funds... but we are finally on track! We didnt need to change/rebuild the stadium; it is all about ambition for the owners and their respect to their history. Milan needs finally someone who is really ambitious and has the desire to change the track of the club. Doesn't make any sense to change the stadium if the spirit and ambitions remain the same. They should be honest with themselves and know where they are right now and use that as a start line. Set realistic goals with ambitious players/staff. Then they will finally reach what they deserve. But hearing their presisent say that the stadium will change their path, shows me that the president prefers to make profit than trying to improve their sport project because in my opinion, the stadium will not save them but a new team spirit staff. A new stadium does not make you suddenly win everything. They should go step by step but right now, a new stadium is not their pripority in my opinion. Forza Inter per sempre but every football fan should respect and love this club.

Inter uses the same stadium and is currently tied with Juve for first place. Good management and recruiting good players is the key. A new stadium would help both Milan and Inter as the stadium is co-occupied! So more money would be gained but you need proper management to spend it correctly in the right management and player resources. Also having a good academy would help too!

I hope they renovate San Siro. Liverpool fixed up Anfield. Some clubs can't just demolish a stadium and build a new one. San Siro holds 75,000. They wouldn't be increasing capacity the way Spurs and Arsenal built stadia to improve attendance.
