Welcome to Olive Grove (that's what I'm calling this area)
There is a ton for me to unpack with this video, and honestly I'm not sure where to begin, so I'm just going to go for it.
First, If you are a regular viewer of my channel you may recognize the first little bit of parkour here from an earlier video. I apologize for reusing that portion, but it just fits nicely there and gets me to where I need to be for the rest of the run.
The origin of this particular parkour run is actually rooted in a different video. Footage for the other video has been recorded, but it needs A LOT of voice-over from me for it to ever see the light of day, but I decided against recording it because it was looking to be about 40 minutes long, and I know you don't have the time (or interest) for that. But since this video has deep roots in that one, I want to try to explain what's going on in my head.
I stumbled upon this strange little secret bureau-like area on accident. Something triggered in my brain and became obsessed with it. Something about how weird and secluded that area is and how I've probably passed over it a dozen times without noticing makes it feel very cozy and cool. So I started exploring the surrounding area and I noticed that this whole area is really unique. I even mapped out this area as defined by its own architecture, stretching all along the north edge of the wall. I can't really explain here everything I want to say about it here, that's what the video was going to be for. So anyway, this parkour run is a result of hours of exploring this area and was going to be the final portion of my video. It was meant to serve as a high speed tour/demonstration of the parkour opportunities of the area.
Next, I just want to briefly talk about the resolution of the video and why it looks funny. I'm stupid and am just now realizing I can record in 4K on my playstation, which is great. Unfortunately, it seems to kind of mute the colors a bit when I record at that resolution. And because of my video production situation, (I do not own a computer) my only option is to upload it directly from my playstation to youtube because my ps5 won't upload 4K videos to the app, which is what I always do
Then i download it to my phone where I can do color correction and captions and stuff. So thats why the colors look kinda dull. But that resolution do be sharp.
Finally, I just wanna say that recording a run this long in a game like this with all its inconsistencies and quirks is a nightmare, and I told myself I would keep recording it until I got it perfect. That didn't happen. There are a couple small mistakes between 4:58-5:08 that bother me, but they aren't bad enough for me to throw away the whole 7 minute video. It took me about 5 hours of recording to get it this good and I'm not doing it ever again.
I think that's it. If you actually read all this, I'm sorry.
Luv u
