Really GOOD video , sir. I've been watching your work. So I can repair at my family and friends residential A.C I'm commerical HVACR tech. I found this videos is very informative and understand clearly! Thanks for sharing.

Honestly it's a step by step process of elimination procedure. Start at thermostat... next blower/evap... then the condenser. I honestly believe if guys separate the system in 3 parts mentally they are able to isolate the problem much quicker. Thank you for watching. These videos are for men like you who want to learn HVAC using the simplest of terms. I literally am training a guy right now. I put him with another seasoned technician. He looked so lost. 😅 I trained with him a couple of days using this method and he told me... the way you explain is so much easier to understand! It just reiterates that the teaching method I apply does work. I constantly have to mentally remind myself that it took me years to learn from other men and retrain so that I could teach others. I know I'm effective when guys like you leave your comments... and other guys leave comments who seem very disgruntled that I'm teaching others using these simple methods. Thank you! 😁

Helpful video. I had same problem in my AC two days ago, and all we did was replace the capacitor. I wish you had taken reading of capacitor before replacing it, just to prove that capacitor was bad. You replaced capacitor on hunch, which is fine. In any event your video is good considering that you got 10K hits in just a few days. Your speaking style is good.

At 2:09 you're turning the fan on (from auto position) and the blower is working. It may be running at the lower speed but it is turning the blower fan on. What am I missing? Thank you. Stan

A simple question. I just put a brand new capitor in my central air conditioner. There is no cold air blowing in through the vents, no air of any kind. The fan is turning. I had the fan checked when I had it taken apart. It is only air conditioner not heater. Thank you

Question.....my blower motor is in the attic..and I can hear it start and stop... I looked in there and it's just kinda barely moving.. what could be the problem??

GREAT VIDEO. I replaced 2 capacitors (Start and Run) and my system began blowing cold air again. However, a week later, my system is back to not blowing anymore air. I can hear the system on the roof turning on and running, with the big fan behind the grill spinning, but the system is not blowing any air. Do I need to replace the fan motor? Or are there any other cheaper things to check before that (fuses relays etc.). I highly doubt my capacitors went bad in a week. This is a Tran RTU model 2wcc3048a1000aa. Thanks for any help you can provide!

So to be clear if the blower fan isn't working and the fan cage turns and you have power it's faulty capacitor that is always the problem....correct?

All comments said after saying no offence come across rude. But I feel that if you are comfortable enough to open an air handler you must know some about electricity or else. But some control boards that present error codes are behind a panel with a door switch. When you open the panel the codes reset. So door switches are made to make the unit dummy proof.. same with discharging caps. The only way a cap will stay charged is if you pull both wires to it simultaneously. Not likely. I get the safety lesson. To everyone else if you dont understand these principles, call a tech...

Is that a start or run capacitor?
@spagentjeff5 жыл бұрын
is the capacitor in the air handler different then the one in the the capacitor found on the unit outside of the house? if this AC unit just happen to have their capacitor in the side?
@MoreThanMaintenance5 жыл бұрын
Yes correct. The blower in the air handler has a separate capacitor for the blower whereas the capacitor on the condenser is for the compressor and fan motor. Hope that helps 🙂

Hi Sam, I am starting school for Hvac tech on 7/8/19, did you learn on on your own or did you attend a school? if so, how long was your school training?

The region I am in requires testing for certification. The certification requirements are regarding how to properly contain and handle refrigerant... laws etc. There is no actual how to troubleshoot an evaporative coil or condensing unit. I did not have the finances to go to school... however ... I was trained by a man who was well advanced in age and experienced who had done refrigeration for 40 years. With that being said... I have had opportunity through out the years to speak to numerous individuals who went to HVAC school and have concluded based on their final assessment after graduation that school is beneficial regarding how to properly read schematics... wiring... relays etc... however they all say undoubtedly that the real experiences of being in the field and troubleshooting you can not learn in a class. It is different being in a controlled environment... where you are in an air conditioned classroom versus being on a rooftop when it is 100 degrees and you are working on a system that 5 other individuals have worked on prior to you. For me I learned through actual on field in site experience...constant exposure to on site field hands on experience... reading articles...watching videos... trying wanting to learn. I also add this... there are some people who are book smart... when they talk they wax eloquent and appear to be of a high intellect however when they are on the field they are unable to troubleshoot due to lack of hands on experience. On the other hand... there are individuals who are not book smart... but are able to tear a unit apart... because they have hands on... on site in field experience. Sorry for the long answer. My advice if you are able to go for it 🙂
