@@AleksKieca I honestly liked the general design of FO4's "assault rifle," but I admit I'm not blind to its obvious faults. For example, I agree with the assertion by many that it should have been classified as a heavy weapon. The stamp on the weapon's silencer clearly says it's supposed to be chambered in 50 caliber, yet it features no ammo conversions whatsoever. The default short and long barrels work best visually, as the other two "improved" barrels don't mesh well with its aesthetic. The drum magazine clips through the gun's body in a way that becomes hard to ignore once you notice it. Its lack of charge bolt animation is what's most disappointing by far. Few things are more satisfying than racking a big machine gun, but this game completely ignores it. Basically, it's not the weapon itself I hate, but its implementation in this game is deplorable.

Effective and efficient compact rifle for ranchers or home defense. They weren't noted for accuracy but accurate enough for coyotes and human size targets. It was built along M14 lines and somewhat similar design features. Great for a saddle scabbard when horseback riding in the woods or sage brush country.

Barrel was too light for sustained fire and overheated, a problem with all the early Mini-14s. IIRC we supplied some to Contras and the wood reportedly started to burn in some cases.

For those not understanding this comment, or the reference to Morita Mk-1..the Ruger Mini-14 rifle, (and a few of them, the fully-auto capable AC-556 versions with the selctor switch you see here)..we're the firearms used as the base for the 'Morita' prop rifles, used in the movie 'Starship Troopers'..just encased in a grey 'futuristic' looking body casing, that had them in a 'bullpup' configuration, (something the Mini-14 rifle has always been good at adapting to)..where the magazine & action are located to the rear of a firearm, behind the trigger, and usually in the area that would normally be the butt-stock. The bullpup concept allows for the same length of barrel as other rifles, but in a much shorter & more compact, overall rifle design. The officer's models were a compact varient that only incorporated the rifle..but the standard MI version also had a 12 gauge shotgun together with it, in a 'masterkey' or Over/Under config within the casing. But as kuul as Starship Troopers' was..This is still just a concept copy of the earlier & far more iconic & beloved ALIENS 'M-41A Pulse rifle' design, which mated a Thommy gun with a SPAS-12 (Originally intended, later changed to a much cheaper version shotgun for the actual production props) together inside a shared body-casing to make it look more futuristic..but in the M-41A, the 'shotgun' instead functioned as a mini-grenade launcher. "There is nothing new under the sun."

I feel like I'm the only person who knows this is the rifle they used for the Morita rifles in Starship Troopers. Much like how the Aliens Pulse Rifle was a shell built around an M1A1 Thompson, the Morita was a shell built around the Ruger AC556. Fun fact: Starship Troopers still holds the world-record for the most blanks fired on a movie set. Another fun fact, after the movies ended, many of the props went to a stock warehouse in Hollywood, so you'll see Starship Troopers uniforms and weapons appear in random TV shows and movies, like Firefly or that one power rangers movie.
