Plainfield loves their P-50s, so they're likely going to stay.

I've wanted to film a P50 for a long time. How loud are they in person? Great video by the way!

Thanks! They're very loud, do not film one without hearing protection

Is it true that the P50's are the second loudest siren manufactured in the world? Besides the obvious chrysler air raid being the loudest
@thespiritstingray9359 Жыл бұрын
Yes it is true. At 135 decibels at 100 feet, the P-50 is the second loudest siren ever built, falling short of thr chrysler's 138db at 100 feet. The P-50 can be heard easily from as many as 2 miles away, and under optimal conditions reports have said it can be heard up to 5 or more miles away

@@thespiritstingray9359 Thats crazy. I've never actually seen one or heard one. My county unfortunately only does tests once a year!! Its so frustrating, yet the county over (not even 6 miles from me) tests them monthly. Mostly my county has older sirens like Model M's and such, and only a few whelens. My town has an R4 finback, and ive seen it during the tests and it always sounds great, then again, just sucks because theres only an annual test, and theres even a few thunderbolts nearby that never get tested. Oh well i guess
