Callsign for your F-14A was 'Fast Eagle 102' from the Gulf of Sidra incident in 1981 where 2 Libyan Su-22s were shot down. Very nice build, that weathering looks spot on. Great looking Tomcat!

Thank you very much for the comment. With the Wolfpack decals set you could depict both F-14A involved before and after the incident. Always nice to associate some history with the model...The all gray scheme definitely needed some weathering. Regards ScalerDan

I'm about to finish the academy 1/72 screaming Eagles - the body to cockpit join is the same as this design but it was a terrible mismatch in height and width, I had to sacrifice the look of the underneath to save the look of the top and did my best to putty/sand it even on all angles (was a very bad mold design and is known for this since the early version of this kit, interestingly the older 1/72 pukin dogs from 1990 has the same job as this some of the other academy kits (at the nose) yours looks like an OK fit?

Hello and thank you for your comment. The connection between the cockpit part and fuselage was fine. It wasn't 100% and definitely not a click fit but good enough to recommend the kit. I had to use some force to slide the cockpit onto the fuselage. The design is a bit too tight. Luckily a little sanding and filler was enough and I didn't lose any detail. Good luck in completing your Eagle. Regards ScalerDan
