Thank you so much for watching this episode about Deep Purple and their fantastic new guitar player Simon McBride. I’m currently on tour myself, standing on stage while you could see this livestream…. Live music is still the greatest thing in the world when you become one with your audience-magic moments you should not miss either on or off stage! I hope this episode could get your closer to one of the most iconic rock bands of all time: deep purple They actually invented a lot what is now called ROCK. What a pleasure to see these guys are still doing it! True musicianship! Respect. Rock on! Cheers, Thomas 😊

I saw Deep Purple in the early 70’s, in Bloomington, MN. Blackmore had two Marshall Major stacks at 200 Watts each! My ears rang for a week! 😊

Yes! Deep Purple was considered the loudest rock band in the Guinness Book of World Records! Glad I saw the original lineups back then - Zep, The Who, Tull, Yes, CSN&Y, Skynyrd, Zappa, Wishbone Ash, Marshall Tucker, James Gang, Climax Blues Band, Outlaws, Johnny Winter, etc…

3 pedsls in the middle are JAM pedals ... great stuff 😊 ... on the left is Boomster, buffer/booster, also can be used as a volume pedal with expression pedal; in the middle is Waterfall analog chorus, on the right is Retrovibe, univibe style pedal. Simple and awsome sounding pedals 👍

I called Tommy, Simon’s gtr tech the other day. Don was playing at sound check in the background and he sounded amazing.

Don is a total nerd! Every day 5:00 he is playing for 30 minutes all by himself in the hall-every day of a tour!!!

Thanks for this video! Saw Deep Purple live back in 1996 in Reading, UK. Will never forget that gig and how Steve blew me away with his playing. PMTVUK did a rig rundown with Simon and he goes through the pedal board. The expression pedal is for the Boss Slicer.

Thanks for sharing the info on the pedals I didn’t know. PMT - great store… been there… Greetings, Thomas

Great episode. It's exciting to get an insight into what's going on before and after such a big show. Simon McBride is an excellent guitar player and gives DP a good new boost. It was fun to watch 😄.

I saw Deep Purple and Jefferson Starship in Mannheim SAP Arena. It was amazing and Simon did a really good job in the show playing guitar. And Don on the keys is anyway not from this planet 😊

I don't find him an "identifiable" player of any character, more of a session player, why people are so easily pleased when it comes to guitar players is beyond comprehension.
@BluGuitar2 күн бұрын
I guess it’s not that easy to meet the endless list of criteria needed for such a position. Just imagine a few different players in that band , and imagine how that would affect the music. And then there’s the other side of chemistry…. ;-)
@stevenjohnston2263Күн бұрын
@stevencook6750 yep. It's not Purple without Ritchie for me.

He's an amazing player that's for sure but the antithesis of Blackmore's style.
@stevenjohnston22633 күн бұрын
Their sound is thin, the performance far too polished and predictable. I still maintain that Purple isn't Purple without Blackmore. I don't care how good his replacements were/are (and they're all really good players).

Simon is a great player but wish he would skip the Gary Moore end of the world ape, doesn't belong in purple, at least pay homage to Blackmore instead for me was purple never the same without him however much Gillan thinks it's his band!
@BluGuitar22 сағат бұрын
As much as we all loved Richie in Deep Purple (including Simon) I believe Simon is authentic doing his thing, and that might include a tribute to his hero Gary besides Richie. For me totally understandable… Unfortunately the 60s and 70s with sheer innovation on the ground of Rock are long gone - we can look back but enjoy a more modern version… maybe it’s a tough Job to write history for your entire life.. ;-)
