4:38 Probably the most realistic sparring you'll ever see that represents how they actually would fight

How tall are the subjects? Maybe it's just the perspective, but they look tall. Asking as a tall fencer#
@AcademyofHistoricalFencing5 жыл бұрын
They are indeed tall. Sam (in red) is 6'5", and Jordan is pretty close to that as well.

4:38 I think that's Boar Tusk vs. High Guard of the Lady at first, but the hilarity after made the video for me.

Is it me, or are these feders ringing a lot more than the other steel weapons in your videos?
@AcademyofHistoricalFencing6 жыл бұрын
Probably a little yes, but its also the setting. We don't do a lot of longsword in the Newport club, and the smaller hall causes more echo than the Bristol one, but the Regenyei feders do also give quite a ring.

Great video and great channel! I challenge the fighters to review thier edge alignment during this fight. Still a great match.

Great stuff! I like when they switched swords 😂 You guys practice the German tradition right?
@AcademyofHistoricalFencing6 жыл бұрын
We do, from Meyer. Though Jordan is a Fiore practitioner who who runs another club nearby, and Sam does a lot more with sabre, rapier and sidesword than he does longsword.

My worthy class weapon.

I really want you to explain the proper use of the longsword. Not much I can learn from these sparring videos.

That's why it's called sparring video and not teaching lesson.

Rear-weighted guards in full gear… awkward.

LOL Just like in Mount & Blade - ACOK. .... not. Next try 2 handed hammers.
