That hoar frost is so pretty on the trees. I didn't know the vent fans on the bins would built up frost like that. That's crazy. Your bees look good so far and they should do better without the old warmups that you usually had. Hope you had a good Christmas.

Something you might like, I found a pollution sensor on Temu that among many things it senses that I don't know about it reads CO2 ppm. Its between 20 and 25 $ a unit. Merry Christmas and thanks for all the great content

It would prevent-reduce snow build up but considering the Hoar Frost on the trees (and they have minimum air flow) - it's just a hazard of the big aeration fans - one spot of frost leads to a continuous build up.

The battery is low, and the bees are not that stir crazy yet so not as much an issue

I wonder if you have enough video over the last few years to compare losses to pre-refrigeration Ian. Also, I'm curious if you've ever tried a wash on the dead fall to check for mites? It seems overall your colonies & nucleus boxes are in extremely good health. I hope the refrigeration doesn't pull too much humidity out of the environment. With as much air exchange, getting accurate heat index readings might be more important than mean temperature when it comes to regulating the girls consumption of available stores.
