"teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord." The Lord knew what he was doing when he set up his church. :-)

The prospect of trying to do that for the 6 hour file is more of a time commitment than I'm can make, however, I did do that for one of the shorter videos-It still an hour and 1/2. It took me quite a while to accomplish it, which is why I haven't tried to expand to any of the others. Here is the link for that video. kzbin.info/www/bejne/e4SVpXabiKl6f6s

What a blessing! This is the medicine for melancholy. This congregational singing has a timeless quality. So edifying! I can't say enough! I just let this play as I sit in front of the window this morning thinking about the things of God and Christ. Thanks so much!

It's a pity the old cassette tapes pick up whispers of SIDE B when playing SIDE A.

Yes indeed. It is partially because of the limitations of the physical medium of the tapes that I'm motivated to try to preserve them into a digitally accessible format, because a few more years and I know these tapes will no longer play at all. May God Bless you! ~Elder Jonathan Moseley

My grandfather and grandmother attended Mt Olive church in Roanoke for many years. I am pretty certain I can hear him in the background on several of these songs. My grandfather was Emory Clifton, and my grandmother was Francis Clifton.

That is wonderful. I remember how special it was to find a recording of my grandfather Hermon Wilkinson leading the opening hymn on a sermon from Shoal Creek PBC near Covington, GA. The message on the church's sermonaudio.com account. It was several years after he had past away, but it sure was sweet to hear his voice singing a song of Zion. God Bless, Bro Jon Moseley

Hi Garrett! Yes, you can indeed hear your grandfather singing bass (and sometimes leading) in these congregational recordings from Mt. Olive. Many wonderful hours were spent with your grandparents singing the old hymns of the faith. Dear, dear people!
