ACC refs are the absolute worse refs there is so going to the SEC or the BIG 10 for that matter would be a huge step up for FSU especially since we'll be getting paid a whole lot more money in either one of those conferences so we would gladly take that. So you both take $60 million per year as an independent rather than $100 million in the B1G. And give up the security of being in one of the two leagues that count. Why would the big 2 make it easier for independents to get into the playoffs? FSU could fight ND for that slot. The SEC will also be close to that $100 million or more, so UF will still be making $40 million per year more than FSU. Is that what you want? In fact, why would the big 2 make it easy for another major independent to even exist? What if the B1G and SEC schools do not have room for FSU on their schedules? Would the leftover ACC schools welcome them? FSU might have a more than tough time setting schedules with anyone. With watered down schedules, how much is an independent FSU worth to a network? Is Miami as a place really that important to either the SEC or B1G? Honestly, I think that your guest really is off the wall on many issues.

Too many moving parts. Too little structure, too poorly organized. The NCAA is as useless as an inert gas. ESPN is allowed to cannibalize conferences for market share. How are you going to fix it. Somebody needs to step up and make smaller more regional conferences that are more relevant locally. These ESPN generated monstrosity conferences do more harm than good. Good show

I don’t see independence being viable in the future Networks are not going to want to work out contracts for 300 teams as the power concentrates more and more into the SEC and Big Ten to a lesser extent the Big 12 all the TV contracts are going to be through those conferences which then will form an entity that will create rules between the conferences. The only other option if they go away from conferences which I just can’t see would be one NFL stile league that has revenue sharing and salary caps which I just can’t see happening because of all the other things tied to collage football

Think SEC adds 4 and B1G adds 2. B1G adds FSU and Miami for a solid Florida presence. SEC adds Clemson, UNC, UVA, and whichever ends up being UNC’s +1 in Duke/NCSt. If ESPN works with the teams, then I think SEC adds FSU, Clemson, UNC and then NCSt if they have to take both public NC teams, or UVA. Then B1G just holds until ND ready to join.

FSU is going to the B1G. The SEC will get Clemson, 100%. Where FSU will really make money is in the B1G. Why? At minimum, FSU would get $250 million in RESEARCH as a member of the BTAA. The B1G gets more research money than the SEC, ACC & IVY leagues combined.

@ccurtis24074 ай бұрын
@@mikemiller4726 The B1G will end up with FSU & MIAMI in my opinion. I believe this is 100% spot on from those I hear from. I also believe that the B1G will demand that Miami build an on campus football stadium, say 35,000 to 45,000 seats. The old Orange Bowl was 65,000. This size stadium would be ideal for Miami. They would have sell outs all of the time. That would bring a better look to the Canes when hosting visitors and on TV. There is a reason why Northwestern is dropping to 35,000 seats. Wouldn't be a bad idea for the Canes in the B1G either. BUT before anyone says no, Miami is a heck of a research university in it's own right bar none.

UVA, UNC, Duke and Miami to SEC. Notre Dame and Stanford to B1G. Then realignment within the B1G and SEC, which becomes a single super-conference. Remaining ACC Teams go to Big 12, or remain in ACC that then expands, or they become independent.

It’s not like there are loads of choices for the SEC within their geographical footprint. We’ll see how it all plays out.

Also what motivation would they even have anyway? They have Clemson and FSU at bottom dollar right now, still pulling in the 7th and 22nd most eyeballs on TV. FSU-LSU was the most watched regular season game involving an SEC team (the other regular season match-ups above that game were 3 B1G games all involving Ohio State, and two Colorado games). This is 100% going to play out in courts, and ESPN will not be stepping up to void that contract.
