what factors can affect corporate tax to go up and down ?

It is up to the government to decide on the rate of corporate tax. They might decide to charge a high rate because they want to collect more taxes or they might decide on a low rate to leave more money in the business in the hope that they will use it to expand and also to attract foreign companies to the country. The rate of tax is always given in exam questions if it is relevant to the question.
