ACCA PER Work Experience | Practical Experience Record and My Work Experience |from ACCA Accountant

Hi guys!
Today I am talking about ACCA PER + Work Experience / Practical Experience Record and Work Experience required to complete the ACCA qualifications.
I have moved around various jobs and kept recoding them on My ACCA.
As per ACCA requirements to fully qualify as a Chartered accountant you need to complete:
13 exams
Ethics and Professional Module
33 months of work experience and
9 PER objectives
So I have covered some information in this video.

Hi Agnes! It was a very helpful video! But may I know is it okay for me to first complete the Professional Ethics module, the 36 months working experience, the performance objective and get them all signed-off, then only I take the remaining exam papers? Is it no matter what the sequence is to get all the above requirement fulfilled? Because I notice most people around me insist to clear the exam papers first then get into work......I'm not sure whether my plan to work first then exam is right for me...... Can you give some advice? Thanks~

Thank you. Glad you found it useful. The best way is to try and do it all at the same time. This is what most people I know did. We studies and worked and did PER as we go along. Otherwise it takes longer

Hi Agnes. Thanks for the video, it was really informative. I have one issue and it's about work experience. The thing is I just moved to UK here last month and I'm interested in ACCA. And when I go to apply for an entry lvl job in accounts, they state that u need have atleast 1-2 yrs experience. I'm kinda stuck. Do u have any suggestions of what I can do? Edit: and I did not complete my graduation when I was in India.

I would recommend getting in touch with the recruiters as they would be able to advise. It’s difficult times nowadays with COVID but the job market is starting to pick up so hopefully something will come up for you soon. By the way if I might advise- try starting off the practice experience as that’s the best way to learn the most

Hi Agnes I’m a bcom graduate from India I’m really interested in doing the Acca course but meanwhile I’m doing a full time job that I need to cover my costs so can you suggest after completion of my course if I apply for jobs with they accept me for the job or do I have to join as a trainee ?

You did not mention what job you do now. Is it the accounts job? If so I would say you don't have to start off as a trainee, it really depends on what you are looking for and where (locationwise) Please see my video about where to find an accounts job, hopefully it will help you look for a job. Yes it is but i wouldn’t recommend leavening the competition of Work experience after the exams as it will delay your qualifications significantly.

Yes as long as you can answer the question asked when filling the PER/ what did you lean and how will this help in your career

If I start with ACCA, After completing approx how many exams in ACCA can I try and get a job (since I am from engineering background, software experience, no accounts degree, no accounts experience & career break)

You will have to try from clerical roles which take people with no experience right from the start of the studies. The sooner the better

Hello. Have I understood you correctly that there is a way not to pay for your ACCA yearly subscription although you pay yourself for your studies? Thank you.

That would be the case if you find an employee that is willing to sponsor you. Then you would claim you subscription fee through the expenses claim and they could further pay for your studies too. It can save you lots of money this way. Let me know if this answers your questions

yes indeed, it is counting towards your experience record but PER must be signed off by an accountant that mentors you

No it’s just one of the requirements needed to be completed to be able to join acca membership. Once you complete all the exams+PER+ 36months of work experience then you get the certificate

You can be exempt from all PER but this will depend on the program that the employer follows. And if you manage to stay there long enough. Are you currently working for approved employer?
