Hi Mike, great presentation as usual. I am glad Ford has made those improvements. Most significantly for me is the improvement of the integration of the touch screen. I absolutely hated the Explorer's application. I know the Tesla was the benchmark but for me, it was just too much in your face. This latest iteration is more refined and much more palatable :-). I used to travel for business often and Ford products including this one was always my rental of choice. I now just hope i will be able to find an ST on the rental circuit soon. Thanks again for a great presentation. You are always equally as entertaining as the substantive review. All the best, DD

The Edge st has a fantastic chunky muscular look. The short depressed hood is awesome and sets itself apart. from the driver perspective the hood appears to bump up above the wheels and feels very sporty. Lots of subtle design style like this that makes it simply look rad.

The proper unit of torque is lb-ft. (or N-m in SI). Ft-lb is the unit for work or energy. Equal to the work done by 1 lb of force acting through a linear distance of 1 foot. People like to interchange them, however they are really two different things.

I think an explanation for the car not having touch entry on the back handles is either because of the part shortage (same with the engine cover & sound deadening) or because you don’t have the fully loaded version with the upgraded brakes. No Power Folding Mirrors, No Roof Rails as mentioned, No HUD. Still a very good vehicle, but Ford really has been lazy with this vehicle and could have made it really fantastic. A correction for US viewers. The $38,440 USD MSRP shown in the video (5:13) is for the "ST-Line" not the full fledged ST. That model begins at $43,600 and quickly rises to over $50,000 USD with options. I'm not sure about the MSRP for the ST in Canada but if it's less than $50,000 (Canadian) with the options shown in the video, it's quite a bargain.

Yup, its an 8 speed that skips a gear, the 2-3 shift is pointless and affects performance, I have a 2019 and always have this issue when manually shifting. The other issue I had was a loud clunk when going from parked to drive or to reverse, this was fixed with an update from Ford. Otherwise, its a pretty decent SUV.
@andresara47113 жыл бұрын
Omg so true I frkn hate the 2-3 shift, it actually jerks and push you to front a bit, the 10 speed from the explorer has smooth shifting and better fuel economy if you go for the 2.3L

I have the '14 Sport as well and absolutely love it. I've been waiting for the larger screen and newer features myself and am looking to probably buy the '22 or '23 (supposedly the last model year for the Edge). My biggest concerns are that the new ones don't come with the 22" rims like the '14 (which is really disappointing - those all-black wheels are going to really suck to have refinished if you hit a curb) and I absolutely hate the shift knob versus the stick type shifter (no place to rest my hand otherwise).

Ford should have given the ‘19+ edges the 2.3 Ecoboost instead of the 2.0. The Lincoln MkC was shipped with that engine as an option and with the weight of the edge, 240hp just doesn’t cut it. More people probably would have been impressed with the edge if the base engine was zippy but that may have taken some ST sales. Anyway, missed opportunity.

I wish Ford would grow a brain. This is suppose to be their flagship 2 row SUV. Why the hell don't they make it rear wheel bias and use the engine that's in the explorer? You would have to spend a lot of money to compete with it if it had that 400 hp engine. And stiffen the damn thing up, if people don't like it they can buy the luxury model.
