Thank you so very much this is a must, I never noticed what it was that I loved about the blues . Priceless advice.

1. Get a small amp - 15 watts max 2. Turn it up most of the way 3. Turn your guitar volume pot down 4. Learn to use the volume pot to find sweet spots 5. Enjoy the dynamics and 'accent'

This is Probly THE biggest point made, ever! I’m a lesson junkie and take in more than I really digest. This discussion was the brightest light bulb moment I’ve had in years! Thank you Anthony

The volume knob on the guitar is one of the most overlooked things. Just like doing accents it helps build up the dynamic during a solo.

Love the camera angle, never thought to look at it that way but thats how we all see the guitar everytime we play it, just not how we see it when someone else is showing us something on it, I can definitely look at your fingers and copy it with mine, it's a lot easier to learn thanks!!

I forget the song name but Buddy Guy plays an incredibly good example of this kind of accenting in one of his classics.

What you need to mention is picking dynamics.......most players pick one way.....they can't grasp the picking dynamics and essentially playing the amplifier. Which I should mention is where I come from as I build and design electronics as well as service & repairs. I look at things as a source to drive the pre-amp......hence the pickups are the source of developing a signal and the signal is determined by how hard you hit the strings......so hitting hard and hitting soft "and all points in-between". The initial signal hit the pre-amp and depending where you set the gain of the first stage.....if the signal drives the wave generated up and in the linear range or just beyond the linear range to where the peak of the signal wave gets squashed down and juicy as what a tube amp is all about. SO what you are doing in your presentation here, is what I always mention but in different terms which might get lost in translation. I see a lot of players on social media where they get arrogant because they have the speed and coordination where they have acute body wiring where they have that dexterity & execution.....BUT thats not what its all about......they have no picking dynamics or could they as you present it here.....have the ability to figure out that there needs to be accenting........they blast away in a monotonic way that is very ear fatiguing and monotonous, thinking I got the notes and can play. Personally I would not say to use a compressor pedal, because in the theory of Blues.....its call and response, so the accenting can signify by loudness dynamic... the call and response aspect of the genre.

Love your lessons, but man, you got to do something about that scraggily beard dude. As loose and precise as your fingers are, you can fix that. Of course, if this is the only complaint you get, it shows how far off base I am. Good luck to all, your a gem, never forget it.

I think it’s funny that you think that a person who taught every single lesson and course for over 6 years in non-standard tuning for no reason other than that it was his personal preference would change his mind about a beard based on YT comments. 😅😅
